Twilight star Taylor Lautner is expecting his first child with his wife of three years, Tay Lautner, with the lovebirds announcing the exciting news via social media on Thursday, March 26.
The actor took to Instagram to post a carousel of photos of the pair standing in a field, with Taylor in a white T-shirt and black jeans, while the mom-to-be wore a white sleeveless dress that fell to the ground. “What’s better than two Taylor Lautners?” the caption read.
Friends and fans of the couple rushed to the comment section to share the love, with Taylor’s Twilight co-star Nikki Reed writing: “Oh my goodness…heart bursting. I love you guys. I can’t wait to watch your journey as parents unfold,” while Peter Facinelli, who portrayed Carlisle Cullen in the films, added: “Whaaaat? Amazing. Congrats. Love you guys.”
Mackenzie Foy, who played Renesmee in the final Twilight film, chimed in: “Congratulations,” while Kellan Lutz, who was Emmett Cullen, said: “Congrats brother! It’s the best!” and Jackson Rathbone, who was Jasper Cullen, wrote: “Name it Taylor Taylor Lautner Lautner…And HUGE congrats! It’s the best thing in the world. You’re gonna be such a fun dad!!!”
Taylor met his wife back in 2018, when his sister, Makeena Moore, introduced him to Tay at a games night. “She called me and said, ‘Dude, I found your future wife. You need to meet this girl.’ And the rest is history,” he told People.
The duo went public with their relationship that same year and got engaged in 2021. They tied the knot in November 2022 in a California vineyard in front of 100 guests. Tay, 29, has been open about her decision to have children, and told Us Weekly that she had some concerns about welcoming a baby in the current climate.
“Sometimes we get a little nervous. How do we raise kids [who] are going to be able to speak up for themselves or feel like they can talk to us about this? It scares me,” she said.
“How do you raise a child now? I’m very thankful for people like Dr Amen, and a lot of my friends have kids or are just having kids. Getting to watch them walk through it and having the support from people like Dr Amen to help facilitate independence or whatever it may be is great.”
© Getty Images for CasamigosShe added that “definitely some time at some point, there will be [kids].” Her 34-year-old husband previously told Entertainment Tonight that he couldn’t wait to become a father someday. “Yes, I absolutely love kids, I love family,” he said. “So, one day, I very much look forward to that.”
© InstagramTay also documented her decision to get fertility tests in January 2025 after a doctor suggested she do a checkup. “[Aliabadi] was a little concerned for me because I’ve been on birth control for 10 years and never taken a break. And she was like, you could, like, not have any eggs right now,” she explained on their joint podcast, The Squeeze, before adding, “We’re in the clear. I got a lot of eggs.”
“That gave me a lot of peace of mind, because I was definitely a little nervous because she was concerned. And truthfully, by the grace of god, there’s a lot.”
