Taron Egerton is âworking onâ trying to make another Kingsman movie come to fruition.
On Thursday, Dec. 5, the 35-year-old actor â who starred in 2015âs Kingsman: The Secret Service and 2017âs Kingsman: The Golden Circle â told the Associated Press at the Los Angeles premiere of Netflixâs Carry-On that he feels the Kingsman story âisnât finished.â
âPlaying that role, playing [Gary âEggsyâ Unwin], it started everything off for me,â Egerton said.
âIt was an incredible time in my life. I also feel that the story isnât finished. I think thereâs one more â I think thereâs just something worth telling.â
Egerton added that heâs also had a discussion with costar Colin Firth â who appeared as Harry Hart/Galahad alongside him in both films â about the future of the series.
âI mean, itâs not up to me, but I know that thereâs the will to make it. I want to make it,â he said. âIâve been and sat down with Colin as recently as last year to try and talk to him about it. I mean, yeah, Iâm working on it.â
Back in October, 20th Century Studios President Steve Asbell told The Hollywood Reporter that they had âno plans on doingâ any sequels or prequels in the Kingsman franchise. In an interview with Screen Rant tied to his latest Netflix project this week, Egerton responded Asbellâs comments.
The franchise previously had a spinoff in February with Argylle, which featured Henry Cavill as a Kingsman agent and arrived three years after the 2021 prequel The Kingâs Man.
âI believe that was said by somebody from Fox, I think,â Egerton told Screen Rant. âI donât know, and I donât want to speak out of school, but I donât think that necessarily means that we wonât do it. I think [director Matthew Vaughn] and I very much want to do one more,â he added. âI want to do one more. And so while, you know, we donât have a shoot date yet, I think it could still happen.â
Vaughn previously confirmed in a 2021 interview with GamesRadar+ that a potential next film in the franchise would mark âthe conclusion of the Eggsy/Harry story,â before reportedly citing Egertonâs âbloody busyâ schedule for a delay in moving forward with another project earlier this year.

As for Egertonâs latest film, Carry-On also stars Sofia Carson and Jason Bateman, and follows an airport security officer who âraces to outsmart a mysterious traveler forcing him to let a dangerous item slip onto a Christmas Eve flight,â per a synopsis.
Carry-On, starring Egerton as TSA agent Ethan Kopek, is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. âWhen Jaume first approached me about the role, I told him I didnât want to do something that felt like an archetypal action hero,â Egerton told Netflix of the role. âLuckily, neither of us thought thatâs what was exciting or interesting about Ethan. What we kept our eyes on was making sure that we made him feel as relatable and as normal as possible ⊠whatever normal is in the extraordinary situation heâs in.â
Carry-On arrives on Netflix on Dec. 13.
