Taron Egerton is “working on” trying to make another Kingsman movie come to fruition.

On Thursday, Dec. 5, the 35-year-old actor — who starred in 2015’s Kingsman: The Secret Service and 2017’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle — told the Associated Press at the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix’s Carry-On that he feels the Kingsman story “isn’t finished.”

“Playing that role, playing [Gary “Eggsy” Unwin], it started everything off for me,” Egerton said.

“It was an incredible time in my life. I also feel that the story isn’t finished. I think there’s one more — I think there’s just something worth telling.”

Egerton added that he’s also had a discussion with costar Colin Firth — who appeared as Harry Hart/Galahad alongside him in both films — about the future of the series.

“I mean, it’s not up to me, but I know that there’s the will to make it. I want to make it,” he said. “I’ve been and sat down with Colin as recently as last year to try and talk to him about it. I mean, yeah, I’m working on it.”

Back in October, 20th Century Studios President Steve Asbell told The Hollywood Reporter that they had “no plans on doing” any sequels or prequels in the Kingsman franchise. In an interview with Screen Rant tied to his latest Netflix project this week, Egerton responded Asbell’s comments.

The franchise previously had a spinoff in February with Argylle, which featured Henry Cavill as a Kingsman agent and arrived three years after the 2021 prequel The King’s Man.

“I believe that was said by somebody from Fox, I think,” Egerton told Screen Rant. “I don’t know, and I don’t want to speak out of school, but I don’t think that necessarily means that we won’t do it. I think [director Matthew Vaughn] and I very much want to do one more,” he added. “I want to do one more. And so while, you know, we don’t have a shoot date yet, I think it could still happen.”

Vaughn previously confirmed in a 2021 interview with GamesRadar+ that a potential next film in the franchise would mark “the conclusion of the Eggsy/Harry story,” before reportedly citing Egerton’s “bloody busy” schedule for a delay in moving forward with another project earlier this year.

As for Egerton’s latest film, Carry-On also stars Sofia Carson and Jason Bateman, and follows an airport security officer who “races to outsmart a mysterious traveler forcing him to let a dangerous item slip onto a Christmas Eve flight,” per a synopsis.

Carry-On, starring Egerton as TSA agent Ethan Kopek, is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. “When Jaume first approached me about the role, I told him I didn’t want to do something that felt like an archetypal action hero,” Egerton told Netflix of the role. “Luckily, neither of us thought that’s what was exciting or interesting about Ethan. What we kept our eyes on was making sure that we made him feel as relatable and as normal as possible
whatever normal is in the extraordinary situation he’s in.”

Carry-On arrives on Netflix on Dec. 13.
