Susan Boyle is back!

The Scottish singer, who rose to fame back in 2009 after her stunning audition for Britain’s Got Talent went mega-viral, returned to Instagram for the first time in two years to celebrate her 64th birthday and tease what would be her first new music since 2019.

In a glamorous video set to her breakthrough audition song “I Dreamed a Dream,” Boyle shared behind-the-scenes footage from what appears to be a photo shoot.

“Today’s a special day — it’s my birthday! But I’ve got something exciting to share… I’m back and working on some wonderful new projects that I can’t wait for you to hear about! ✨” she captioned the post, which was shared on April 1.

Boyle added that more news would be “coming very soon,” but she wanted to let fans know that she missed them during her time out of the spotlight.

“Your support means the world to me and I’m more determined and excited than ever,” she wrote. “Love, Susan x.”

Two days later, she shared another post that featured a photo of her posing in a stylish pantsuit.

“Thank you all so much for the beautiful birthday wishes, I’ve read so many of your kind messages and they truly mean the world to me 💞,” she wrote. “It was a lovely day, and I’m feeling very grateful, especially knowing I’ve your support! There’s lots in store this year and I can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on… not long now! 💫

The posts were the first from Boyle since June 2023, when she shared a photo and video of her meeting Elton John backstage after his concert.

The singer’s life changed overnight after her audition for season 3 of Britain’s Got Talent aired, with the star telling PEOPLE in 2019 that she went “from being a wee unknown lady with a cat in Scotland to being recognized wherever I went. It took some getting used to.”

“Fame is such a bizarre concept and has never been my motivator. I just want to sing for people and give them joy, happiness, suspend reality for a brief time and entertain,” she added.

Boyle released her debut album I Dreamed a Dream in 2009, which went on to become the best-selling album in the world for the year. She’s released seven studio albums, most recently in 2016, and put out a compilation album titled Ten in 2019. That same year, she competed on America’s Got Talent: The Champions, and finished as a finalist.

She returned to Britain’s Got Talent in June 2023 to sing “I Dreamed a Dream” once more, and during her appearance she revealed that she’d suffered a minor stroke in April 2022.

“I have fought like crazy to get back on stage. And I have done it,” she said.
