Survivor fans were not happy about the latest season 50 episode being interrupted by President Donald Trump’s speech about the Iran War.

Halfway through Wednesday, April 1’s Survivor episode “The Blood Moon,” CBS temporarily cut away from the reality competition at 9 p.m. ET to air a live address from President Trump, 79, at the White House. Fans immediately started complaining via X that the interruption occurred during one of the most tense Survivor episodes of the season as tribes merged.

“Most game changing episode of Survivor… and it’s stopped because a trump announcement,” one viewer grumbled, while another quipped, “Guys the presidential address is interrupting survivor. This is the worst thing trump has ever done.”

A third viewer argued, “The speech from Trump was a whole lot of nothing. What was the point of interrupting Survivor for that?”

Ozzy Lusth never thought he had a chance to return to Survivor after pivoting from reality TV to OnlyFans. “I’m surprised CBS asked me back after everything,” Lusth, 44, told The U.S. Sun in an interview published on Tuesday, February 24. “I dabbled in some pretty hardcore stuff.” Lusth has competed on five seasons of […]

“This special report from Trump is f’ing with Survivor and its pissing me off,” a Survivor fan raged.

Survivor fans were similarly miffed in December 2025 when Trump cut into the season 49 finale to deliver a speech about his administration’s economic policies and tout his goals for 2026. (Savannah Louie won the final Tribal Council over Sophi Balerdi and Sage Ahrens-Nichols in a 5-2-1 vote in the season 49 finale.)

This time, CBS went out of its way to warn fans that there would be a break at the halfway point in Survivor’s two-hour episode on Wednesday.

The network put out a press release on Tuesday, March 31, confirming, “CBS News will air a Special Report for President Donald J Trump’s live primetime address to the nation from the White House, Wednesday, April 1, at 9 p.m., ET. CBS News’ Tony Dokoupil will anchor the coverage.”

“The special two-hour Survivor episode (starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT) will resume where it left off immediately following the president’s address for Eastern and Central Time Zone viewers on the CBS Television Network and air in its entirety,” the network clarified. “Check your local listings for more details.”

As for the speech itself, Trump told viewers that Iran was “really no longer a threat” and vowed that major combat operations were wrapping up. (The U.S. and Israel launched combat operations in Iran on February 28.)

“As we celebrate this progress, we think especially of the 13 American warriors who have laid down their lives in this fight to prevent our children from ever having to face a nuclear Iran,” Trump said. “Twice this past month, I have traveled to Dover Air Force Base, and it’s been something, I wanted to be with those heroes as they returned to American soil. I was with them and their families, their parents, their wives, their husbands.”

The president went on, “We salute them. And now we must honor them by completing the mission for which they gave their lives. And every single one of the people, their loved ones said, ‘Please, sir, please finish the job,’ every one of them, and we are going to finish the job and we’re going to finish it very fast. We’re getting very close.”

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt first announced on Tuesday that Trump planned to address the nation in primetime.

“TUNE IN: Tomorrow night at 9 p.m. ET, President Trump will give an Address to the Nation to provide an important update on Iran,” Leavitt, 28, tweeted at the time.

Survivors airs on CBS Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
