Student Allegedly Tried to Murder Classmate In Order to Resurrect Sandy Hook Shooter Adam Lanza

Two high school students in Florida allegedly tried to murder a classmate, with authorities saying that they believe the plan was linked to one of the suspects’ fascination with Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza.

Altamonte Springs Police Department confirmed that two students at Lake Brantley High School are now facing attempted murder-related charges as adults after investigators learned that they allegedly planned to attack a classmate, according to court documents viewed by Us Weekly.

Police believe that the students — who have been identified as 15-year-old Isabelle Valdez and 14-year-old Lois Lippert — concocted an elaborate plan that included specific steps, specific items and a specific target, per FOX 35 Orlando.

The Lake Brantley Police Department received an anonymous tip on January 22, in which a student was accused of planning to kill another student the following day.

Both Valdez and Lippert went to school on January 23, and police contacted the school security guard to get Valdez out of class around 7:38 a.m.

Valdez was brought to the assistant principal’s office, where she was questioned about wanting to hurt another student. WESH reported that she confirmed her plans, and she told the assistant principal that she had written a letter to give to her parents after she went through with the plan to hurt the classmate.

She was then asked how she planned to hurt the student, and she said that she had a knife, gloves, trash bags and wipes in her backpack. Court documents stated that Valdez gave the assistant principal a white trash bag, which included all of the items she had listed. Additionally, a knife was found inside her backpack.

Valdez allegedly said that the victim was “perfect and reminded her of Adam Lanza (a school shooter who is now deceased),” according to documents viewed by WESH.

Valdez reportedly told investigators that she heard voices that told her that killing the boy would create a “blood bond” with Lanza and that the bond would bring him back to life, according to FOX 35 Orlando.

Lanza was behind the mass shooting that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, in 2012. After he slaughtered 20 children — ages 6 and 7 — and six adult staff members, Lanza died by suicide at the scene of the crime.

Valdez said that she planned to attack the student at school, while the arrest report described a scenario in which the victim would be confronted in an upstairs bathroom.

She reportedly described her plan to pull the victim inside the bathroom before stabbing him, according to documents viewed by the outlet. The suspect also mentioned wanting to cause injuries including a stomach stab or a throat cut. Due to the discovery of Valdez’s alleged plan, authorities are viewing the case as a premeditated attempted homicide instead of just a vague threat.

Valdez also said that she sometimes hears voices in her head that instruct her to hurt others. Additionally, investigators found that she had been following the victim, taking his photos and memorizing his class schedule.

Lippert allegedly knew about Valdez’s plan to kill the victim and purchased the items for her friend. Valdez also reportedly said that Lippert helped sharpen the knife for the planned attack.

It’s not currently clear if Valdez or Lippert entered pleas or retained legal representation.

Following Valdez and Lippert’s arrests, Seminole County Public Schools released a statement regarding the incident.

“We are deeply grateful to the individual whose courageous tip allowed law enforcement to take swift action,” the statement said, per Click Orlando. “The situation was resolved safely thanks to the seamless collaboration between our school and law enforcement partners.”
