Sterling K. Brown gave an update on Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia as they deal with the aftermath of the Los Angeles wildfires.
The âParadiseâ actor shared in a new interview that he checked in on his former âThis Is Usâ co-stars after hearing they had to evacuate their homes.
âTalked to Milo, talked to Mandy, talked to them both. Itâs difficult,â Brown, 48, told âExtraâ Thursday. âTheyâre just very much in the midst of all of it. Itâs one day at a time.â
On Jan. 7, wildfires erupted in the Pacific Palisades before quickly spreading through LA and burning down entire neighborhoods.
Hundreds of thousands of people were forced to evacuate, including Moore and Ventimiglia, who played married couple Jack and Rebecca Pearson in the NBC drama.
The âA Walk to Rememberâ actress, who shares three young children with husband Taylor Goldsmith, said at the time that she was âpraying and grateful for the first responders.â
Moore, 40, later shared with her social media followers that the main area of her home had been spared by the Eaton Fire, but her in-lawsâ place was destroyed.
Ventimiglia, on the other hand, was not as fortunate, as he was forced to watch his Malibu, Calif., home burn down through a security camera.
During an interview with CBS News on Jan. 9, the âGilmore Girlsâ alum, 47, cried as he walked through the property, which he described as âtoast,â after he and his pregnant wife, Jarah Mariano, were forced to flee.
âYou start thinking about all the memories and the different parts of the house and whatnot, and then you see your neighborsâ houses and everything around, and your heart just breaks,â he said.
âI think thereâs a kind of shock moment where youâre going, âOh, this is real, this is happening,ââ Ventimiglia added of watching his home being engulfed by flames via security cameras.
âAnd at a certain point, we just turned it off. What good is it to continue watching? We kind of accepted the loss.â
The actor detailed trying to grab âeverything they could think ofâ while evacuating. However, they still lost a lot, including their babyâs crib.
Ventimiglia also referenced âThis Is Us,â in which his character died after the familyâs home was engulfed in flames due to a pressure cooker explosion.
âItâs not lost on me life imitating art,â he said after the tragedy.
Ventimiglia and Mariano, who secretly married in 2023, are expecting their first child.
