Starbucks Is Bringing Back Its Reusable Red Cup Giveaway: ‘A Moment of Holiday Joy All Season Long’

Starbucks is ringing in the holidays with a special gift!

The coffee company announced that it is bringing back its popular red cup giveaway on Thursday, Nov. 14, for coffee lovers who order any size of their handcrafted holiday beverages. 

Starbucks noted that this year’s reusable red holiday cup is made with “95% recycled content.” The design appears to feature red and white ornaments in front of a red background and behind Starbucks’ iconic mermaid logo and a white top.

“Enjoy a moment of holiday joy all season long with our beloved beverages, festive food and must-have merchandise perfect for gifting,” the company said in a press release announcing the news.

Over a dozen beverages qualify for the limited-edition reusable red holiday cup including holiday favorites — that can be “hot, iced or blended” — like the Caramel Brulée Latte, Peppermint Hot Chocolate, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Salted Pecan Crunch Cold Brew and over a dozen more drinks. 

However, those who order the Starbucks Christmas Blend, Starbucks Christmas Blend Blonde brewed coffee and Starbucks Reserve beverages are not eligible to receive the limited-edition cup.

Customers will be able to obtain the cup not just in person at the Starbucks locations, but also with their Starbucks orders on mobile including on the DoorDash, Grubhub, Uber Eats and Starbucks apps. The special cups will be available while supplies last at participating locations across the U.S. 

In addition to the disposable cup, Starbucks members will also receive 25 bonus stars and other benefits year-round, including a 10-cent discount on their order if they bring the cup to use at Starbucks. 

Earlier this year, Starbucks launched a new autumn flavor: the Iced Apple Crisp Nondairy Cream Chai (which is also eligible for the red cup giveaway). It also heralded in the return of some of its favorites, the Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte and Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew, with a twist of a pumpkin cream cold foam topping.

The Iced Pumpkin Cream Chai Tea Latte — which was first introduced last year and combines chai with pumpkin cream cold foam and a dusting of pumpkin spice — and the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew,  Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato and the Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso also made returns to the menu.

The coffee company also dropped two fall drinks available exclusively on the Starbucks app: the Iced Caramel Apple Cream Latte and Iced Honey Apple Almondmilk Flat White. Customers also received a new treat in the form of a Raccoon Cake Pop, which features vanilla cake covered in a chocolate buttercream layer that’s decorated with adorable ears, eyes and a nose.
