In Stabler we trust!

Christopher Meloni is back as Det. Elliot Stabler in a new teaser for season 5 of his Law & Order series Organized Crime.

The spinoff show, which originally launched in 2021 as Stabler returned to New York City after living and working abroad in Rome, will kick off its latest installment exclusively on Peacock beginning April 17.

The premiere will include the first two episodes of the season, followed by weekly installments for a total of ten, 60-minute episodes.

While past seasons have followed Stabler on a number of assignments with the Organized Crime Control Bureau, including tracking down his wife’s killers, infiltrating the Albanian mafia and exposing a ring of dirty NYPD cops, the newest season will explore “the dangerous worlds of cross-border smuggling, high-tech domestic terrorism and a crime family intent on repaying Stabler for the injury he did them in Rome,” according to NBC.

And, as Stabler’s “worlds collide,” he’ll have to “put everything on the line to protect the vulnerable and fight for justice,” says the network.

Season 5 will also see the return of guest stars Ellen Burstyn as Stabler’s mother, Bernie, and Nicky Torchia as Stabler’s son, Eli.

In the season 5 teaser, Stabler can be heard in a voiceover as past scenes from the show flash on screen.

“The pain. The things I’ve seen,” he says, “all in the pursuit of one thing: Justice. This fight has only just begun.”

Organized Crime also stars Danielle Moné Truitt as Ayanna Bell, Dean Norris as Randall Stabler,
Rick Gonzalez as Bobby Reyes and Ainsley Seiger as Jet Slootmaekers.

Last summer, Meloni exclusively told PEOPLE that he was busy writing episode 2 of the new season.

“It is awesome,” he says of his new undertaking. “But it’s [a big] responsibility so I don’t want to mess it up.”

While Stabler hasn’t made any cameos of late on sister show Special Victims Unit, he did mention that he was planning to have Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson make an appearance in the episode he was working on.

“I know [Olivia] Benson will be with OC for a moment there,” he revealed.

When asked what’s in store for the two beloved characters, Meloni, of course, was coy as ever.

“I’m going to have an opportunity to… I don’t know,” he says. “I’ll tell you what. Hopefully, uncover, peel away a little bit more of the onion or uncover a little more depth of feeling between them.”

Season 5 of Law & Order: Organized Crime will premiere on April 17 exclusively on Peacock.
