Snoop Dogg has sent love to his daughter, Cori Broadus, following her announcement that her baby Codi died three weeks after the infant’s release from a 10-month stay in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
The rapper, 54, (real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.) shared a family photo — which included Cori — on Saturday, January 31, and captioned the Instagram post with “sparkling heart” and “prayer hands” emojis. Fans supported the grieving Broadus family with condolence messagess in Snoop’s Instagram comments section.
“I’m so sorry very sorry for her and her husband loss Of their child .This is very devastating news,” one fan replied. “I love me some Cory❤️II pray for their comfort, healing and a peace of mind. Baby girl is with the Lord now and she has no more suffering.🙏🏾 I am truly sad about this.”
Another commenter added, “Deepest condolences, prayers for the fam.”
Snoop Dog’s son, Cordell C. Broadus, included an encouraging message for Cori while posting the same family photo via his Instagram Story on Saturday.
“Lil sis, we got you forever,” Cordell, 28, added.
Earlier in the day, Cori, 26, made the devastating announcement alongside sharing a black-and-white photo of herself cradling her infant daughter. (Codi was Broadus’ first child with fiancé Wayne Deuce.)
“Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” she confirmed via her Instagram Story.
In a subsequent post, Cori grappled with the tragic loss occurring less than a month after Codi was released from an extended stay in intensive care.
“20 days later? Dawg I’m sick,” she wrote.
Deuce mourned his daughter with his own poignant Instagram Story, which read: “I’ve been the saddest since you left me Codi Dreaux. But I know you [are] at peace. Daddy will always love you.”
Cori previously shared on January 6 that she was finally allowed to bring Codi “home.” The baby had a 10-month stay in the NICU due to being born three months premature in February 2025.
“Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all,” Cori wrote to her Instagram followers earlier this month.
The Mayo Clinic classifies a baby born before 28 weeks of gestation as extremely preterm. Complications such as breathing issues, feeding problems and difficulty regulating body temperature can arise for babies born so prematurely.
Cori documented her life as a NICU mom via her social media over the past 10 months. She spoke with Us Weekly in September 2025 about her daughter’s resiliency during her unexpectedly long hospital stay.
“That girl is so feisty. That’s a feisty girl. She’s so resilient and strong,” Cori told Us at the launch of Choc Factory at Thirteen Lune in Los Angeles. “She just has so much character. The doctors and nurses always tell me, ‘Your baby got her mind. She’s smart. She’s alert. She knows what’s going on. She can hear. She can see. Yeah, the circumstances are not what you thought they would be, but it could be worse.’ That girl is just a sweet little firecracker.”
During that same September 2025 interview, Cori explained to Us that she was relying on hope and faith to get both her and Codi through such a difficult time.
“This morning, I had a moment because this baby who got there after I had my baby, she went home today, and I broke down,” Broadus said. “Of course I’m happy. I’m ecstatic [for them] but it’s like, ‘Damn! You guys get to go home. Our baby is still here.’ But then it goes back into my faith. You got to trust in God and trust His plan. Everybody’s plan looks a little different. She’s gonna get home. Our journey home just looks a little different than the next baby and so forth.”
Cori experienced two very serious health issues over the years. She was diagnosed with lupus at age 6 and later had a stroke at the age of 24 in January 2024.
“What really got me close with God is after I had my stroke,” she told Us last September. “I told him, ‘God, if you get me out of here, I’m gonna tell the world about y’all and tell the world you’re real.’ And He did exactly that. And He gets me through.”
Snoop Dogg shares three children with his wife, Shante Broadus: sons Corde, 31, and Cordell, and daughter Cori. The hip-hop icon also shares a son, Julian Corrie Broadus, 27, with Laurie Helmond.
