Rumer Willis is going to die hard on this hill.
Bruce Willis and Demi Mooreâs daughter insisted on Monday via Instagram Stories that she doesnât receive financial help from her parents while raising daughter Louetta as a single mother.
The 37-year-old clapped back at âuninformedâ and ârudeâ haters after posting about her ânever-endingâ to-do list, which ranged from âdrinking 64 ounces of waterâ and âmeal preppingâ to âdatingâ and âplanning afterschool activities.â
She captioned the Reel, âI need a nap and a duvet day asap. đâ
Hours later, Rumer took to her Story to set the record straight after seeing comments âjudg[ing]â and âassum[ing]â she received assistance from her famous mom and dad.
âI work four different jobs to provide for my daughter,â the entrepreneur clarified. âI am the sole provider for [my 2-year-old]. I donât live off a trust fund or get money from my parents. Most of the time I donât have help with her. So how about yâall pause before you judge and assume.â
She went on to post a message from one of her followers pointing out that she has âbackupâ and will never âend up on the street.â
Rumer insisted she is âvery awareâ of her âprivileges in life,â noting, âI donât take that for granted. I donât live my life treating family support as a backup plan.
âI take a lot of pride in providing for myself and my daughter, and Iâve carried real financial stress and responsibility,â she continued. âThere were years when I was the sole provider for multiple people, navigating pregnancy, inconsistent work and the uncertainty that comes with that.â
Rumer, who welcomed Louetta in 2023 with ex Derek Richard Thomas, concluded by denying âthe idea that [she doesnât] work or understand financial pressure.â
Telling naysayers âtwo truthsâ can exist at once, Rumer wrote, âThereâs room for both compassion for what others face and honesty about our own lives without it becoming a competition.â
Reps for Rumer, Bruce and Moore did not immediately respond to Page Sixâs requests for comment.
Rumer is the former coupleâs eldest child, with the duo also welcoming Scout, now 34, and Tallulah, now 32, before ending their 13-year marriage in 2000.
Bruce, 70, moved on with Emma Heming Willis, with whom he shares daughters Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11.
The âDie Hardâ star and Moore, 63, maintained an amicable co-parenting dynamic over the years â and the actress has been at her ex-husbandâs side amid his frontotemporal dementia battle.
