Shia LaBeouf was arrested once again in New Orleans just one day after a new warrant for his arrest was issued.
The âTransformersâ actor was taken into Orleans Parish county jail on Saturday at 1:48 p.m. local time and booked on a battery charge.
As of Page Sixâs reporting, the actor, 39, appears to remain in custody.
A rep for LaBeouf did not immediately respond to Page Sixâs request for comment, and a rep for New Orleans Police Department declined to specify where the battery charge stems from.
As Page Six previously reported, a new warrant for LaBeoufâs arrest was issued by New Orleans Police Department on Friday.
A source told local news outlet WWL Louisiana that the warrant is related to his Feb. 17 Mardi Gras bar brawl arrest.
The insider claimed the case comes from an additional victim involved in LaBeoufâs fight at New Orleans party spot R Bar.
LaBeouf appeared in court on Feb. 26 for his Feb. 17 arrest over the alleged brawl, and was subsequently released on $100,000 bond.
Footage from the altercation showed the âEven Stevensâ alum lashing out with gay slurs before head-butting one of the men involved.
Per a police report, authorities alleged the âTransformersâ star called the men âfââsâ during the fight and continued hurling slurs even after police arrived look into the altercation.
âThese fââs put me in jail,â LaBeouf said, according to the report. âIâm a Catholic.â
Per the report, one man suffered a potentially dislocated nose in the fight, despite telling the actor that he didnât want to fight.
The actor was charged with two counts of simple battery, but resumed the revelry almost immediately after being released from custody.
He was subsequently seen mocking his own arrest by stuffing jail paperwork in his mouth and dancing.
LaBeouf was later pictured in photos exclusively obtained by Page Six attempting to go into a church on Ash Wednesday and going for a jog.
On Saturday, LaBeouf defended himself during an interview with Andrew Callaghanâs Channel 5.
âIâll be honest with you, big gay people are scary to me,â he said in the interview published on YouTube on Saturday.
âWhen Iâm like standing by myself and three gays are next to me, touching my leg, I get scared. Iâm sorry. If thatâs homophobic, then Iâm that. Yeah.â
He also explained that his recollection of the events leading to the arrest âhappened one time,â and said âthatâs why I, um, got arrested.â
LaBeouf confessed during the interview that he was âwrong for touching anyone. Ever. And thatâs the end of my statement on this whole sât.â
LaBeouf, 39, clarified elsewhere in the interview that heâs âgood with gay, [but] be gay over there, though. Donât be gay in my lap.â
âThatâs why. I was drunk and itâs Mardi Gras,â he said. âSo, everything Iâm saying is nonsense.â
Amid the drama, TMZ reported on Saturday that insiders close to LaBeouf claim heâs not to blame for his split from Mia Goth and that he tried âeverythingâ to save the relationship â though a Goth source claimed an alleged drinking problem came between them.
The pair quietly separated almost a year ago, Page Six previously reported.
