Sheryl Lee Ralph is living her best life in Jamaica, and we have no choice but to stan!
The actress, 69, spent the second half of the past week by the beach, joining TODAY’s Fourth Hour, aka TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle, on their brief getaway outside New York City’s Studio 1A.
Sheryl was a guest on the show, and following her appearance, took to her Instagram page with a new video, feeling the full fantasy by the sun and the sand.
Sun, Sand, Sheryl
In the clip, which you can watch above, the actress strutted around her resort in a lime green string bikini, paired with a patterned shrug, her hair in a long braid and accent jewelry pieces. “I am home in JAMAICA,” she captioned the video.
The clip has already made the rounds online, garnering nearly 275k likes (as of writing), and Sheryl was quickly dubbed “goals” by many of her fans and famous followers. Kelly Rowland simply exclaimed: “ALL OF THIS!! GOAL!”
Amber Riley commented: “Always a dreamgirl,” with Jeremy Pope calling her “THE BEAUTY” and Abbott Elementary co-star Lisa Ann Walter going: “Git it.” Even the official Abbott Instagram page got in on it by commenting: “Sea Barbara has arrived.” Danielle Brooks also wrote: “Soror Auntie Sheryl you ain’t have to do us like that?!? My God! Drop the workout routine next!!”
Other fans added comments like: “Universe, I’ll have a glass of what she’s having please!” and: “She’s exactly who she thinks she is!!” as well as: “Miss Barbara, I’m ready for the rest of the tourrrrr,” plus: “Now that right there is a QUEEN!”
Health anew
Speaking with People last year, the Moesha star explained why she recently decided to go on a weight loss journey. “The whole idea of being forever young is mental, physical and spiritual. I wear my joy.”
“On Abbott the cameras are all around. One time I got a shot of my behind, and I was like, ‘Oh, hell no!’,” she quipped. Upon getting a checkup, “the doctor said, ‘You are obese on the inside.'” She continued: “[The doctor] said, ‘Change the way you eat, work out, drink water.’ When the doctors tell you that stuff, you’ve got to do it. Because there are certain things like fresh air, sunlight, those are very good medicines. Very good medicines.”
That inspired her to go on a new fitness journey, although firmly wanted to stay away from weight loss drugs (“I don’t judge”). “If that would have worked for me, I would have,” she explained. “I would do anything to have the best health I possibly could.”
“My face is my face”
Something else she doesn’t want to consider is plastic surgery. “My face is my face. That’s my choice. Anybody else wants to do anything to their face and it works for you? Do you.”
“Who knows. That might change when I’m 80… I tell anybody, ‘Do what you need to do for yourself. You want that filler, baby? Get filler. You want that shot, baby, get that shot. You need that facelift, honey, go on, get that facelift. You feel good about yourself? Good. That’s what matters.’ I’m not their judge.”
