Shakira has postponed her show in Peru amid a health scare.
“I am sorry to inform you all that last night I had to go to the ER for an abdominal issue and am currently hospitalized,” Shakira, 48, wrote via social media on Sunday, February 16. “The doctors whose care I am currently under have communicated I am not in good enough condition to perform this evening.”
She continued, “I am very sad to not be able to take the stage today. I’ve been looking forward to reuniting with my incredible fans here in Peru. I hope to be released and well tomorrow so I’m able to perform. My team and the promoters are already working on a new date to communicate to you. Thank you all for your understanding, I love you all.”
The message was simply signed, “Shak.”

Shakira kicked off her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour on Tuesday, February 11, in Rio De Janeiro. After taking the stage in Brazil, Shakira was scheduled to perform on Sunday and Monday, February 17, in Peru.
Days before beginning her tour, Shakira received the award for Best Latin Pop Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards for her album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran. (Shakira beat out fellow nominees Anitta’s Funk Generation, Luis Fonsi’s El Viaje, Kany García’s GARCÍA and Kali Uchis’ ORQUÍDEAS.)
“This is incredible, thank you so much,” Shakira said while accepting the award and blowing a kiss at the audience.
Shakira, who also performed at the awards ceremony, ended her speech by giving a sweet shout-out to her kids. (Shakira shares Milan, 12, and Sasha, 10, with ex Gerard Piqué. The pair confirmed their split in a joint statement in 2022 after 12 years together.)

“I want to share this award with my kids, Milan and Sasha, who are here with me. I’m so proud of you guys and your kind hearts. Thank you so much for supporting me the way you do. I love you.”
One day later, Shakira reflected on the win in a social media post.
“Thank you for this Best Latin Pop Album, I had so much fun with this performance!” Shakira wrote on February 3. “To be surrounded by so many great artists and friends in one of the best Grammy editions of all time was a dream. Can’t wait to see you in May on my tour #LMYNLWorldTour in the US! #GRAMMYs.”
