Shailene Woodley embraced her wild side on the set of Three Women.
Woodley, 32, showed off her natural curls via Instagram while reflecting on playing Gia in the Starz drama series on Sunday, October 13. The actress’ ringlets were a refreshing sight on screen as they were scrunched into voluminous kinks, much different than her go-to waves.
In one snap, Woodley flipped her locks to one side of her head, revealing just how much space her curls took up. She posed in a black button-up frock with a gold coin pattern and short sleeves while gazing into the camera with her lioness look.
Woodley also shared a more tame photo of her curls while relaxing in bed. She cozied up under a gray blanket while her honey blonde strands surrounded her fresh face on a pillow.
“One of my favorite things about playing GIA in three women was finally letting my lion hair roar for a character,” Woodley captioned the post. “Thank you mom + grandpa for the hair genes.”
Woodley went on to thank her hairstylist, Kari Hill, for being her “secret weapon” behind her hair color, as well as Maria Gracia for styling her curls on set. (Woodley filmed Three Women from 2021 through 2022.)
Fans, most of whom were kept in the dark on Woodley’s secret curls (just like Us), were quick to compliment the actress in the comments section.
“Had no idea how curly your hair was love love love!” one wrote, as another quipped, “Why didn’t the world know your hair did that?” Celebrity friends, including Naomi Watts and Cara Delevingne, also praised Woodley’s natural locks.
“Wow 🔥🔥🔥,” Watts, 56, wrote. Delevingne, 32, gushed, “THE HAIR.”
Three Women also stars Betty Gilpin as Lina, DeWanda Wise as Sloane and Gabrielle Creevy as Maggie. It airs Fridays on Starz.
