Selena Gomez is continuing to do good with Rare Beauty.
The singer and actress, who nabbed her first Emmy nomination for Only Murders in the Building this year, is teaming up with Sephora for the âMake A Rare Impactâ campaign in honor of World Mental Health Day on Oct. 10.
âWe created the Rare Impact Fund before we created a single product, and itâs so rewarding to see it being a resource for people when they actually come to our community and seek help. Iâm just really grateful. This is why I do it,â Gomez, 32, tells PEOPLE exclusively of her Rare Impact Fund, a nonprofit organization geared towards increasing access to youth mental health services and education all over the globe.
For the second year in a row, Sephora will donate 100 percent of all Rare Beauty product sales (in-store, online and at Sephora at Kohlâs) on Oct. 10 to Gomezâs Rare Impact Fund. The Emilia PĂ©rez star says she still remembers some of her earliest experiences with the beauty retailer, which makes teaming up with them now feel full-circle.
âWhen I was younger, my mom was a makeup artist, so actually, I do remember [coming to Sephora], and it was a place that we couldnât really afford, to be honest. So to me, it was so fancy,â she admits. âAnd it still feels that way sometimes when you walk in, but itâs not as threatening. I thought you had to be professional to know makeup!â
Though Gomez has arguably carved out a space for herself as a professional in the makeup arena with Rare Beauty, she remains down to earth when it comes to her own getting-ready routine.
âI love the process of putting on makeup. Itâs so fun, but taking it off is equally as satisfying!â she says with a laugh. âSometimes thatâs my self-care that I do. That, and making sure Iâm taking care of my skin.â
Gomez also says sheâs cognizant of how she spends her time. With such a busy schedule, she does her best to weave in opportunities to recharge.
âI just try to build it around moments I can take a break. If I need to just fly to L.A. really quick, Iâll do that, just because itâs worth it to see my little sisterâs soccer game that I got to go to this past weekend,â Gomez says. âOr to see my friends and family. They keep me sane.â
Gomez and her younger sister Gracie, 11, have shared several sweet moments over the years â from their âsissy date night[s]â to their adorable red carpet appearances.
Gomezâs mom, Mandy Teefey, welcomed Gracie with Gomezâs stepfather Brian in 2013, when Gomez was 20.

Twelve years later, Gomez and her sister are as close as ever, and the multi-hyphenate tells PEOPLE she feels truly settled into who she is.
âI think everyone either likes me or hates me, and Iâm just who I am at all times. I donât really know how to be any other version than me,â Gomez says. âAnd sometimes itâs fun and sometimes itâs messy. I love who I am at the end of the day.â
