âWho Saysâ Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are rushing to walk down the aisle?
The newly engaged couple discussed wedding plans, their upcoming collaborative album I Said I Love You First, and more in an interview with Rolling Stone published on Monday, March 17.
According to Blanco, 37, Gomez has several ideas regarding her dream wedding when the time is right.
âI think every day sheâs planned a new wedding in her head,â he began. âWeâre very much âtake it one day at a timeâ-type of people. Weâre still not over this moment. Literally, while you were talking, she was sitting there staring at her ring.â
Gomez, 32, added, âAlso, I genuinely feel like this is such a special time that we get to apply it to this album and really just pour our heart into it, and completely translate what we feel and bring it to the world. Thatâs my main focus right now, at least.â
In December 2024, Gomez announced that Blanco popped the question with an oval-shaped ring featuring a large marquise diamond, estimated to be six carats. Blanco asked for Gomezâs hand in marriage with a romantic picnic that included Taco Bell.Â
When asked if adding Taco Bell to the proposal felt ordinary, Blanco explained that he and Gomez are âjust living our life every day.â
âThereâs not this whole elaborate thing. I think weâre very lucky to be surrounded by such great people, and weâve still just been enjoying so much,â he told Rolling Stone. âIt feels like we got engaged yesterday, but also feels like we got engaged 20 years ago. Iâve known her since she was 18, and so itâs like we got all that stuff out of the way. By the time weâre dating, itâs like, whoa. My biggest regret is that we didnât get to do this earlier, like we waited this long to be together. But I know it was perfect and it was right.â
Speaking more about the collaborative LP, out on Friday, March 21, Gomez detailed how working with Blanco on new music became a therapeutic experience. Gomezâs last album, Rare, was released five years ago.Â

âI was, to be honest, very frustrated and kind of confused on where I wanted to go next musically. And we had been together for a while, and obviously I would confide in him,â Gomez admitted.
Blanco added, âSheâd wake up, Iâd have a pen out, and Iâd write what was on her mind. Then weâd go into the other room and create it, and it became a song. It was such a cathartic and therapeutic experience.â
