“Scrubs” star Eliza Coupe fired back at fans who had negative things to say about her recent premiere look.
“Pictures from my camera roll from the past three weeks. #thisishwhatireallylooklike #truth #haterscanhate #ichooselove #rememberwhoyouare #transmute,” she captioned an Instagram Reel on Saturday containing photos and videos of herself.
Fans flooded Coupe’s comments with supportive messages about how “beautiful” she was.
“Yes! Show them! Absolute hit job on you for NO REASON. You have tons of support and love as these comments show and you are a delightful human. ,” wrote one user.
“A) you’re beautiful B) more importantly you rock C) and MOST importantly as long as you’re healthy & happy no one’s opinion but yours matters,” added another.
“You look great. Can’t believe how things got twisted on you,” commented a third fan.
Coupe’s clapback comes after she hit the red carpet on March 19 for the world premiere of Netflix’s “The Residence” at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, Calif.
At the time, the “Making Babies” actress, 43, rocked an edgy look, wearing a plunging shimmering gold dress with a dark fur jacket and knee-high boots.
She wore her blond tresses in a choppy shag haircut.
Several social media users said Coupe looked “unrecognizable” at the premiere and expressed concern for her health.
“Damn. This is just sad. Scrubs star Eliza Coupe, 43, looked unrecognizable in Hollywood on Wednesday night,” wrote one X user alongside a photo of Coupe from the premiere and one from her time on “Scrubs” from 2009 to 2010.
“I see this in Los Angeles all the time. This looks like more than just normal aging and screams drug abuse and malnutrition to me. I don’t know her personally so I can’t say for sure but I really hope she has family and friends who can check in on her because this is deeply concerning,” the fan added.
Another wrote, “Oh my goodness… Eliza Coupe looks so terrible these days, she was at some awards thing this week… I hope she heals from whatever is going on with her… see the second photo in 2021 to how she looked before, such a stunner, I hope she gets herself back to health.”
A third netizen posted, “The photos of Eliza Coupe at the Residence premier make me so sad, love Happy Endings, one of the best sitcoms I was so excited to see her in this. Really hope she’s ok.”
“I don’t like to comment on people’s bodies but that photo of Eliza Coupe is really upsetting. I hope she’s okay,” said a fourth person.
Coupe previously opened up about her struggles with food and body image during an interview on the “Funny Thing Is” podcast in February.
“I was so broken; I couldn’t get fixed enough for the relationship because I had damaged it with my own s–t,” she said, per the Daily Mail.
“Some may call it an eating disorder, I just call it my life.”
The “Future Man” alum said food was always her “drug of choice” and she joined a 12-step food program that had her weighing out every meal for seven years.
“I would over-exercise, and there was a sprinkle of bulimia in there,” she shared, adding that she was “grateful” for the tools she learned from the program.
