Scarlett Johansson’s Wide-Leg Pants Look Like Posh Pajamas, and We Immediately Need to Recreate Her ’Fit

Welcome to The Blueprint, where we break down the celebrity looks we want to wear right now and build them back up, piece by piece.

I love winter fashion, but there’s always one point in the year when all I want to do is wear jammies — and that time is now.

Nothing seems as appealing as my soft and stretchy pajama bottoms — but maybe, just maybe, Scarlett Johansson’s mega-voluminous pants are the exception.

The actress recently started a new gig as a guest co-host on Today with Jenna & Friends alongside Jenna Bush Hager, and her $1,065 Dries Van Noten wide-leg trousers immediately convinced me to think outside the box. The pants’ fit was the furthest from restrictive, just like my nightwear, but they’re undoubtedly way more polished. In other words, I wouldn’t mind wearing them in public since they actually look nice.

She also wore a sleek half-sleeve top from Maria McManus, which balanced out the volume in the bottom half of her outfit.

And I can’t forget to mention Johansson’s glowing complexion, which was thanks to skincare products from her brand The Outset, including a barrier balm, eye cream, firming serum, daily moisturizer, and mineral sunscreen.

Scarlett Johansson’s Outfit Blueprint

Tronjori High-Waist Wide-Leg Palazzo Pants

These palazzo pants with over 13,000 five-star ratings look similar silhouette-wise to Johansson’s pair, and they even have flattering pleats in the front.

One shopper noted that the “extra wide legs make [the pants] look like a skirt,” which also reminded me of the palazzo pants Oprah wore in the fall. They have a professional look up front, and the back waistband has some elastic in it, so another shopper said they can “eat, breathe, and sit comfortably throughout the day.”

V28 Turtleneck Half-Sleeve Sweater Top

Hot studio lights probably aren’t a problem for you, but extremely cold office buildings might be (My coworker was just talking about how she keeps a blanket at her desk for this exact reason!), so a turtleneck sweater top could be a better way to warm up inside. This one is “stretchy,” according to shoppers, and the soft ribbing will conceal undergarment lines.

And you know who else wears half-sleeves? Johansson’s The Other Boleyn co-star Natalie Portman.

Anrabess Short-Sleeve Polo Sweater Top

There’s also this style, which has a polo collar and sleeves that could actually be quarter-length, another option that doesn’t cover or bare the arms in their entirety. As for what to wear with it, you already know — wide-leg pants, obviously. But if you want a pair that’s slightly more slim-fitted than Johansson’s, but still comfy-looking, try these now-$35 bottoms.
