Scarface star Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio looked ageless while sporting a warm outfit to fight the winter cold, in a rare sighting of the actress on the New York subway.

The 67-year-old wore a gray turtleneck, dark jeans and a large gray puffer jacket during her train commute, and completed the look with black earmuffs, black gloves and a blue shopping bag.

Mary rose to fame in the early ’80s after landing her breakout role in 1983’s Scarface alongside Al Pacino, Michelle Pfeiffer and Steven Bauer. In the hit film, she portrayed Al’s character Tony’s sister, Gina.

After Scarface, Mary went on to star in several blockbuster hits, including 1986’s The Color of Money alongside Tom Cruise and Paul Newman, which earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

She also starred in 1989’s The Abyss, 1991’s Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and 2000’s The Perfect Storm, and acted alongside A-listers like Kevin Costner and George Clooney. The brunette beauty also received a Tony nomination in 2003 for her performance in the Broadway revival of Man of La Mancha.

Mary spoke about her experience with fame following her breakout role in Scarface, and shared that she was often mistaken for other actresses in public.

“People say: ‘You’re Amy Irving!'” she told The New York Times. “Well, it’s the same hair. One cab driver said to me: ‘You look just like that girl in Scarface – Geena Davis.’ I guess it’s that Geena and I have the same wide-set eyes.”

Her most recent role was a three-episode arc in Law & Order: Organized Crime in 2025. Mary has been married to film director Paul O’Connor since 1990, and the pair share sons Jack and Declan.

The family of four lived in the UK for more than two decades before returning to the US in the 2010s. Mary shared with the Associated Press that she wanted to be as present in her sons’ lives as possible while juggling an acting career.

“I understand why people in the arts don’t have children. I have three big relationships in my life that need tending to,” she told the outlet. “Let’s face it: I invited [my kids] to join me on this journey, and I should be around for most of it. I quite enjoy it, actually. I like doing that job – mother. I think parenting is the most humbling experience.”

The mom of two later told Digital Journal that her success came from raising her sons, rather than her onscreen career. “I managed to live a life as an actor, and that’s how I’ve been able to pay my bills, and that’s how I’ve been able to raise my children,” she said.

“It hasn’t always gone my way; my choice was to be home with my children as much as I could, so we did decades of traveling. The success of it all is that we are all together, we are happy, and we have peace of mind. Also, we are still alive and thriving, so that’s success.”
