Savannah Guthrie and her family have issued an urgent statement to News 4 Tucson (NBC’s affiliate) in the hopes of receiving new information about her mother Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

Nancy, 87, was first reported missing after she failed to attend her usual church service on February 1, leaving the Today show star and her loved ones heartbroken and distressed as the investigation has failed to uncover any leads.

The family urged local members of the Tucson community to think back around the “key timelines” of the case and come forward with any information they may have, adding that “no detail is too small”.

The statement, which aired as part of special show, Bring Her Home – The Disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, read: “We are deeply grateful for the outpouring from neighbors, friends and the people of Tucson. We are all family now.

“We continue to believe it is Tucsonans, and the greater southern Arizona community, that hold the key to finding resolution in this case. Someone knows something. It’s possible a member of this community has information that they do not even realize is significant. We hope people search their memories, especially around the key timelines of January 31 and the early morning hours of February 1, as well as the late evening of January 11.

“We desperately ask this community for renewed attention to our mom’s case – please consult camera footage, journal notes, text messages, observations or conversations that in retrospect may hold significance. No detail is too small. It may be the key.”

Heartbreaking message

The statement concluded with a heartbreaking message from the family, stating they are unable to grieve until she is found.

“We miss our mom with every breath and we cannot be in peace until she is home. We cannot grieve; we can only ache and wonder. Our focus is solely on finding her and bringing her home. We want to celebrate her beautiful and courageous life. But we cannot do that until she is brought to a final place of rest. Thank you for continuing to pray without ceasing.”

It was co-signed by the Guthrie family – Camron and Kristine, Annie and Tommaso, and Savannah and Michael.

Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance

Nancy was last seen on the evening of January 31, following a family dinner and game night at the home of her daughter, Annie. Her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, reportedly dropped her off at her $1 million Tucson residence at around 9:45 pm.

Police received footage of Nancy in an Uber on the night of her disappearance and questioned the driver at length, yet found no leads in the case.

When she was reported missing the following day, investigators discovered blood droplets on her doorstep, suggesting a violent encounter. Despite reviewing over 40,000 public tips, the primary evidence released is surveillance footage of a masked figure seen outside the home.

The individual appeared less than 45 minutes before Nancy’s pacemaker disconnected from her phone at 2:28 a.m. The footage shows the individual, wearing a ski mask, gloves, and a backpack and carrying a gun in a holster around his waist, approaching her front door and attempting to dismantle her surveillance camera.
