Savannah Guthrie has officially pulled out of co-hosting the 2026 Olympics opening ceremony amid the desperate search for her mom, Nancy Guthrie.
âSavannah will not be joining us at the Olympics as she focuses on being with her family during this difficult time,â an NBC spokesperson told Page Six on Tuesday.
âOur hearts are with her and the entire Guthrie family as the search continues for their mother. We will share additional information about our Opening Ceremony coverage plans soon.â
Page Six exclusively reported on Monday that Savannah, who was set to co-host the Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Italy on Friday, was not likely to attend as the search intensified.
âThere is no way Savannah will be there,â an NBC source told us of the âTodayâ show host.
Savannah, 54, was set to co-host alongside Terry Gannon, with Olympic gold medalist Shaun White expected to join them.
She was also set to be in Italy for a week to record âTodayâ alongside former co-host Hoda Kotb.
As Page Six previously reported, Nancy was last seen Saturday evening following a family dinner, but failed to show up for church the following morning.
She was officially reported missing around 11 a.m. local time on Sunday.
Authorities believe Nancy, 84, was âtaken from the home against her will, possibly in the middle of the night,â a Pima County Sheriffâs Department spokesperson previously told Page Six.
âThat includes possible kidnapping or abduction,â they added. âThis is an elderly woman in her mid-80s who suffers from ailments⊠she couldnât go 50 yards.â
According to 911 dispatch audio obtained by Fox News on Tuesday, the Guthrie matriarch âhas high blood pressure, [a] pacemaker and cardiac issues,â though she is âof sound mind.â Â
On Tuesday, âTodayâ show hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones addressed the stunning disappearance of Savannahâs mom during âToday With Jenna & Sheinelle.â
âIâll just tell you guys behind the scenesâŠweâre all rattled,â Jones said during the episode.
âWeâre all shaken. We all recognize that we have a job to do. But as you guys know, weâre family around here, and itâs not just something that we say. Weâve all been a little rattled.â
Bush Hager called Nancy âa woman who is loved deeply by everyone here at âToday.ââ
Meanwhile, Kotb shared a message of hope in the form of a rainbow image on Monday.
