Sarah Michelle Gellar Reveals Her Candid and Relatable Fashion Mantra at Age 47: ‘I’m More Invested in Myself’ (Exclusive)

Sarah Michelle Gellar is getting better with age!

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the actress reveals what her candid and relatable fashion mantra is at 47 years old.

“I think that there was a time when I worried so much about what was trendy and what people would think of how I looked in it, and I think now, I’m more invested in myself and wanting to try things that are different,” Gellar says. “And I think it’s been successful for me lately.”

“I’ve been going outside of my comfort zones, which is rare, I think, at my age,” she continues. “But I don’t know, maybe there’s a confidence that comes with age?”

“You get to be a little bit more daring,” adds the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star with a laugh.

Gellar — who also tells PEOPLE her fashion sense is always “evolving” — recently attended Paris Fashion Week for the first time earlier this month.

“I’ve never been,” the mother of daughter Charlotte, 15, and son Rocky, 12, says, explaining, “I’m always working. I’ve never had time to go.”

Gellar stepped out at the Balenciaga womenswear fall/winter 2025-2026 show wearing a dark ensemble composed of a black crew neck mini dress and sheer black tights, which she paired with a leather trench coat in the same color.

She accessorized the attire with black pointed-toe shoes, a black Hermès Kelly bag and black square-shaped sunglasses.

“My weekend in Paris ,” Gellar, who has partnered with Trainline for its new “Ticket to Summer Travel in Europe” campaign, captioned an Instagram post that showcased some fun and fashionable moments in the French city.
