The Sanders family is no stranger to the spotlight — and Thanksgiving 2025 was no different.

Shilo Sanders, older brother of the current Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur, shared some hilarious moments from his family’s holiday meal on his YouTube page on Friday, November 28.

The former Colorado Buffaloes safety, son of legendary football player and coach Deion Sanders, started his hilarious vlog by introducing his mom, Pilar, and his brother, who he called, “the best rookie quarterback in the nation.”

A later clip from the vlog shows Shedeur, 23, sitting at the dining room table studying NFL plays. Shedeur is slated to make his second NFL start on Sunday, November 30, when the Browns host the San Francisco 49ers.

UPDATE — 4/26/25, 2:42 p.m. ET: The Cleveland Browns confirmed via X that they had selected quarterback Shedeur Sanders as the 144th overall pick in the fifth round on Saturday, April 26. This makes Sanderst the sixth quarterback taken in the 2025 draft. Original story: After months of build-up and anticipation, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ […]

In typical older brother fashion, Shilo, 25, did not let that one slide.

“Look at him studying his plays and whatnot before his big game,” Shilo teased. “What a good boy. Studying your plays so Coach [Kevin] Stefanski don’t get mad. ‘Stefanski, I even studied my plays on Thanksgiving.’ ”

As the family sat down for their Thanksgiving meal, Shilo was in charge of the pre-meal prayer, which made for some hilarious, now-viral moments.

“Thank you for letting Shedeur start, finally,” Shilo said. “We appreciate it. Please help him this Sunday to throw for 500 passing yards.”

Shedeur interrupted: “The win is what’s important.”

Then Pilar chimed in: “We want your passing yards, too.”

“Just the win,” Shedeur emphasized.

And that wasn’t the end of it:

“Please allow Shedeur to do his best so he can pull some strings and get me on the Browns, too,” Shilo continued. “And please make number 21 available somehow.”

Shedeur had to interrupt again: “What! Denzel Ward is a franchise player! 21 is gone bruh.”

“Well, nevermind, 28 will do,” Shilo said.

The humorous family moments came less than a week after Shedeur started his first NFL game with the Browns, a 24-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on November 23. He previously sat in the backup role with the team.

Deion Sanders now has two sons in the NFL, joining the growing ranks of brothers in the league. Hours after quarterback Shedeur, 23, was drafted by the Cleveland Browns, his brother, safety Shilo, signed a contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday, April 26, as an undrafted free agent. Shilo, 25, was not picked […]

“I feel like they respect the way I go about my business,” Shedeur told the media after the game. “And being a backup and everything, sometimes you have to compromise your personality and change the way you do things to never step on anybody’s toes. So, the fact that I got an opportunity, and I was able to show the organization, show everybody who I really am, then that was truly exciting.”

As has been the case for much of the season, Shedeur has been the focal point of many conversations around the NFL.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, originally from Ohio, has supported Shedeur since he was drafted last year and chimed in after Shedeur’s win last Sunday. Kelce spoke about Shedeur’s first NFL start on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast, which he hosts with his brother, Jason.

“Talk your s***- Shedeur, let’s f***ing go!” Travis said on the Wednesday November 26 episode of the podcast. “My dog goes in, gets his first start, gets his first dub. Let’s f***ing go, man. The 45th starting QB for the Browns since 1994, first Browns QB to win his first official start since 1995. Cleveland’s been waiting for this. We’ve been waiting for this.”
