Salma Hayek’s lookalike daughter steals the spotlight in rare appearance with famous mom

Salma Hayek’s lookalike daughter Valentina made a rare appearance in a new social media video co-starring her famous mom, and showcased her bubbly personality in the sweet clip.

The pair went vintage shopping together for the Instagram series Cartversations, and delighted fans with their hilarious banter. 

Salma looked stunning in a black tank top and black floral skirt, paired with a black belt and a large gold pendant necklace, with her hair flowing down in beachy waves.

Valentina was stylish in blue jeans, a white tee and a black belt, paired with a black handbag and sunglasses. 

The 18-year-old began the video by teasing her mother about the series of emojis in her Instagram bio, before helping her pick an outfit.

Quality time

“I love finding things through you. Even when you were on Instagram, and you were younger, the feed would give you age-appropriate

for you to create your own style and taste cause you’re so artistic,” Salma said.

“So it’s been lovely to see you grow, change and investigate and rediscover yourself through the years.” The actress then asked her daughter for her opinion on a dress pulled from the rack, to which Valentina replied: “Absolutely not. That’s always going to be a no. It has pockets, mom.”

“I tried,” Salma quipped. 

Salma’s close bond with Valentina

The 59-year-old, who shares her only daughter with her husband, François-Henri Pinault, told Elle that Valentina was always teaching her new things about technology, music, fashion and more.

“She started blocking accounts,” Salma recalled of when she asked Valentina for help with her social media. “I was like, ‘Why am I getting this?’ And she said, ‘Oh, no, no, no. Mom, let’s block this, this, this, and that.’ She was protecting me because I didn’t know how to do it.”

“She teaches me a lot about music,” the star continued. “We go to concerts and music festivals together. I’m telling you, she keeps me young. I love music, and it’s so cool. It makes me feel like a cool mom that I actually go to concerts.” Salma added that she was glad Valentina still wanted to share her interests and spend time with her. 

“Most kids would say, ‘Get away. I’m going to a concert. The last person I want to take is my mom.’ I’m honored that she lets me into her life in those ways. I love her friends, and they’re used to me and used to going to concerts with me. It’s fun.”

Salma and Valentina’s close relationship has created a sense of trust and a strong bond between the pair. “I have a daughter who knows she can say anything to me. She doesn’t have to hold back or feel like she’s going to be judged,” the mother of one explained.

“She can tease me, and she can just be herself. She’s fun…It’s so nice to do activities together, have a good time together, and be girls together.” Valentina is getting ready to fly the nest and begin her college career, with Salma sharing that she was interested in pursuing political science and minoring in film with the intention of becoming a director.
