Shogunâs stars Anna Sawai and Hiroyuki Sanada were the nights big winners in their respective categories, outstanding female and male actors in a drama series, on Sunday night.
During her speech, an emotional Sawai told the audience in L.A., âLast year, when this show came out, the only thing I wanted was for people to watch it, so this has been beyond my imagination.â
In his own speech, Sanada said, âI feel like Iâm in a dream.â
âThank you SAG Awards, Iâm Hiroyuki Sanada, actor. Iâm so honored to be here with these amazing nominees,â he said.

Kieran Culkinâs awards season domination continued, with the A Real Pain star winning, again, for his performance in the dramedy at the SAG Awards on Sunday.
Culkin won male actor in a supporting role, and spend much of his acceptance speech â literally, he counted down the seconds, out loud â joking about the statueâs weight and generally, delivering a playful stand-up routine.
Of course, Culkin eventually got around to the important business of thanking his costar and director Jesse Eisenberg.

Jane Fonda Is âBeyond Honoredâ to Be Given the SAG Life Achievement Award

Jane Fonda is following in the footsteps of some of her most iconic SAG-AFTRA colleagues.
Fonda will be honored with the SAG Life Achievement award on Sunday during the 2025 ceremony, and told PEOPLE and EW during the preshow that she is âbeyond honored.â
âIâm really excited and deeply honored and happy about tonight,â said Fonda, 87. âIâve spent a lot of time in the last weeks [thinking about] what acting means to me ⊠why SAG is different than all other unions ⊠we create empathy.â
Last yearâs SAG Life honoree was Barbra Streisand, who was preceded by Sally Field in 2023.

While chatting with PEOPLE and EW during the red carpet preshow on Feb. 23, Luke Newton teased whatâs to come for season 3âs hero and heroine in season 4.
âIâve really enjoyed coming back this season,â Newton said. âYou know, [Nicola Coughlin] and I, we get to sort of dip our toes in and out of the show and kind of like show this new version of their relationship. But Iâm most excited about the new love story that we focus on. Itâs just been so beautiful seeing that sort of develop their relationship with nothing.â
Much of the cast, nominated on Sunday, is in L.A. for the SAG Awards, Newton said.
âObviously weâre shooting season 4 at the moment, so thereâs a lot of people that Iâve seen on a daily basis, but everyone from last season we havenât seen this year was back, and it was weird seeing them on like a rooftop in the middle of L.A.,â he said.

Nobody Wants This star Kristen Bell is taking the helm of this yearâs SAG Awards, and the 44-year-old teased to PEOPLE in the run-up to the ceremony that there might be a musical number planned.
Wicked is leading the pack as the movie with the most nominations this year and âitâs been a struggle not to make the whole thing aboutâ the musical film, Bell told PEOPLE.
Asked whether a musical number will be part of the festivities Sunday, Bell said, simply, âWe shall see.â When asked if a fan would make money betting on a Wicked-inspired musical number, Bell teased even further, âYou might, I donât know. Iâd put money on it if I were you.â
