Anna Sawai and Hiroyuki Sanada Win for Their Performances in ‘Shogun’

Shogun‘s stars Anna Sawai and Hiroyuki Sanada were the nights big winners in their respective categories, outstanding female and male actors in a drama series, on Sunday night.

During her speech, an emotional Sawai told the audience in L.A., “Last year, when this show came out, the only thing I wanted was for people to watch it, so this has been beyond my imagination.”

In his own speech, Sanada said, “I feel like I’m in a dream.”

“Thank you SAG Awards, I’m Hiroyuki Sanada, actor. I’m so honored to be here with these amazing nominees,” he said.

Kieran Culkin Wins, Again, for ‘A Real Pain’ — and Performs Stand-Up During His Acceptance Speech

Kieran Culkin’s awards season domination continued, with the A Real Pain star winning, again, for his performance in the dramedy at the SAG Awards on Sunday.

Culkin won male actor in a supporting role, and spend much of his acceptance speech — literally, he counted down the seconds, out loud — joking about the statue’s weight and generally, delivering a playful stand-up routine.

Of course, Culkin eventually got around to the important business of thanking his costar and director Jesse Eisenberg.

Kristen Bell Sings a Version of Frozen’s ‘Do You Want to Build a Snowman?’

Kristen Bell revisited her beloved Disney song, “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” for an adorable opening monologue number featuring photos of the night’s big stars.

Bell reworked the Frozen song’s lyrics to “Do You Want to Be an Actor?” singing as the camera showed celebrities in the audience and in old pictures onscreen.

As is tradition, the SAG Awards began with attendees performing their versions of the “I’m an actor” speech. The stars tapped this year included Mikey Madison, Jessica Williams, Bowen Yang and Jodie Foster.

Each recalled their early days in and highlights of Hollywood — though Yang chose to spend his moment reciting lyrics from Smash. Foster recounted shooting a Coppertone commercial, and Williams got “photobombed” by tablemate and Shrinking costar Harrison Ford.

In a fun, prerecorded clip that kicked off the SAG Awards on Sunday, Smart and her costars Hannah Einbinder, Megan Stalter and Paul W. Downs debated how to get Smart’s Vance back into the hosting spot.

It ended with her opting to try the age-reversing substance (though she told her colleagues, “I’ll just throw this away.).

The Complete Unknown star wore a leather suit, with Cowboy-esque accessories including boots and a bolo tie. He paired the entire ensemble with a lime (Brat!) green silk shirt.

Chalamet is nominated outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role.

Jane Fonda Is ‘Beyond Honored’ to Be Given the SAG Life Achievement Award

Jane Fonda is following in the footsteps of some of her most iconic SAG-AFTRA colleagues.

Fonda will be honored with the SAG Life Achievement award on Sunday during the 2025 ceremony, and told PEOPLE and EW during the preshow that she is “beyond honored.”

“I’m really excited and deeply honored and happy about tonight,” said Fonda, 87. “I’ve spent a lot of time in the last weeks [thinking about] what acting means to me 
 why SAG is different than all other unions 
 we create empathy.”

Last year’s SAG Life honoree was Barbra Streisand, who was preceded by Sally Field in 2023.

Pam Anderson Is Makeup-Free, Again, at the SAGs

Pamela Anderson is a first-time Screen Actors Guild Award nominee on Sunday night, with the actress up for outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role for her work in The Last Showgirl.

Anderson, 57, continued her commitment to ditching makeup and showed off her bare face while on the SAGs carpet in a white, one-shoulder gown. The star paired her look with old Hollywood curls and a side-part.

While chatting with PEOPLE and EW during the red carpet preshow on Feb. 23, Luke Newton teased what’s to come for season 3’s hero and heroine in season 4.

“I’ve really enjoyed coming back this season,” Newton said. “You know, [Nicola Coughlin] and I, we get to sort of dip our toes in and out of the show and kind of like show this new version of their relationship. But I’m most excited about the new love story that we focus on. It’s just been so beautiful seeing that sort of develop their relationship with nothing.”

Much of the cast, nominated on Sunday, is in L.A. for the SAG Awards, Newton said.

“Obviously we’re shooting season 4 at the moment, so there’s a lot of people that I’ve seen on a daily basis, but everyone from last season we haven’t seen this year was back, and it was weird seeing them on like a rooftop in the middle of L.A.,” he said.

According to the press release, Carson (pictured above on Sunday) and Centineo will give fans “exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the ceremony and participate in various SAG Awards pre-show events,” including “supporting the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s efforts to provide disaster relief to members” who were affected by the recent wildfires in L.A.

Kristen Bell Is Hosting — and Seemingly Planning to Sing!

Nobody Wants This star Kristen Bell is taking the helm of this year’s SAG Awards, and the 44-year-old teased to PEOPLE in the run-up to the ceremony that there might be a musical number planned.

Wicked is leading the pack as the movie with the most nominations this year and “it’s been a struggle not to make the whole thing about” the musical film, Bell told PEOPLE.

Asked whether a musical number will be part of the festivities Sunday, Bell said, simply, “We shall see.” When asked if a fan would make money betting on a Wicked-inspired musical number, Bell teased even further, “You might, I don’t know. I’d put money on it if I were you.”
