Rumer Willis is channeling one of her mom Demi Moore’s most iconic characters.

In a recent photoshoot, Willis, 36, slipped into the glittering gold bikini that Moore famously wore in the 1996 film Striptease. The famed string bikini is going up for auction on Saturday, April 5, at Studio Auctions, with bidding set to start at $5,000.

Willis’ throwback look is not only a flawless homage to Moore, it’s also a full circle moment for the former child actress. Nearly 30 years ago, Willis appeared in Striptease alongside her mother as Moore’s onscreen daughter, Angela.

In the film, Moore’s character, Erin, a former FBI secretary, takes a job as an exotic dancer in order to make enough money to pay for the lawyer she needs to win a custody battle with her ex. At the time the movie was made, The Substance actress was 36, the same age that her daughter is now.

In her photoshoot, Willis embraces the sultriness of the look by pairing the bikini with a pair of sky-high black stilettos and a pair of dark sunglasses. She opted for a natural look over instead of going full glam as she appears to be wearing minimal makeup and wears her blonde hair down and parted just slightly to the side.

When Striptease was first released, Moore’s role stirred controversy due to her appearing topless, but it has since become a cult classic.

In a September 2024 interview with Variety, she reflected on starring in Striptease and G.I. Jane, a movie where she plays a soldier, back-to-back and how she realized facing backlash for both roles helped her pave the way for other actresses to play similarly challenging and unexpected characters.

“If anything in this industry has ever been stacked against me, it was having those two films come out at the same time and becoming the highest-paid actress on top of that,” she said at the time. “That moment was so powerful for me because it wasn’t just about me; it was about changing the playing field for all women. But because I was portraying a stripper, I betrayed women. And because I played a soldier, I betrayed men.”

She continued, “The narrative quickly became ‘Well, she’s only getting paid that number because she’s playing a stripper.’ It hit me really hard. But at the same time, I understood that anybody who steps out first is going to take the hit.”
