Rod Stewart had decided to get rid himself of a few of his most prized “works of art.”

On Wednesday, Nov. 14, the British singer, 79, revealed in an Instagram post that he would be giving up his beloved collection of Italian sports cars because he finds the potholes in his neighborhood to be too bad to continue driving around.

“I am extremely fortunate and eternally grateful to be the owner of these five beautiful hybrid sports cars, which, in my opinion, are true ‘works of art,'” Stewart captioned his Instagram post, which featured a photo of him posing in front of his brightly color cars, all lined up on a tree-lined street.

“Unfortunately, because of the potholes on our roads, I may have to find new owners for them,” the singer continued. “I’ve been driving these iconic Italian cars since the seventies, and I absolutely love and adore them.”

Stewart signed off the caption: “This post is for my fans—thank you, as you are the sole reason I own them. 🤩 And to all the trolls… don’t bother; I never read the comments.”

The “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?” musician has been candid about his love for his sports cars, sharing social media posts and other updates about the vehicles — including Ferraris, Lamborghinis and more — over the past several years.

Stewart has also been candid about his frustrations with the British roadways because of their potholes — so much so that in 2022, he even took matters into his own hands and filled a few holes himself.

In March 2022, the singer shared several videos to Instagram in which he can be seen fixing the potholes near his Essex home. In the hilarious clips, he can be seen wearing a construction vest with an Adidas tracksuit — and a crew repairing the potholes is visible in the background.

In one video, the “Maggie May” singer is seen shoveling as he says, “I’m repairing the street where I live, because no one can be bothered to do it.”

Stewart captioned the post, “Working for a living, filling holes is good for the soul! 🕳 😇.”

In another video, he demonstrated the numerous potholes and detailed his reasoning for taking matters into his own hands.

“The other day there was an ambulance with a burst tire,” Stewart said in the video. “My Ferrari can’t get through here at all, so me and the boys thought we’d come and do it ourselves.”

Stewart made headlines in August when he and his wife Penny Lancaster responded to rumors circulating about a rift in their marriage. At the time, he shared a statement shutting down the “erroneous articles” that had been written about them.

“We wanted to put the record straight,” Stewart wrote on Instagram at the time.

“There is absolutely no rift between Penny and I and no disagreement over where we should reside, in fact it’s the opposite,” he continued, before addressing a specific claim that the longtime couple — who wed in June 2007 — is fighting about whether they should make a permanent move from Los Angeles to the United Kingdom.

“We moved permanently back to our beloved Britain a year ago but are fortunate to also have homes in different countries, which we love to visit,” he wrote. “Originally we did think it made sense to sell our house in LA, but having spent a wonderful time there this summer with family and friends during my Vegas residency we realized that it makes sense to keep our house there.”

“Penny and I could not be more in love with each other after 27 glorious years. Please trust me on this….. there’s no disharmony in our marriage,” he added before signing off the statement as “Rod ‘a very lucky man’ Stewart.”
