For Robin Thicke, parenting his kids — Julian, Mia, Lola and Luca — has been instrumental in his personal healing.

Three years before releasing his breakout hit in 2013, the “Blurred Lines” singer welcomed his first child, son Julian, with his ex-wife Paula Patton.

After the 2016 death of his father, Alan Thicke, Robin said he was inspired to have more children. From 2018 to 2020, the singer and his fiancée, April Love Geary, welcomed three kids: Mia, Lola and Luca.

The Masked Singer judge has also been candid about how his father’s death made him “put everything aside” and be there for his elder son, Julian.

“I wasn’t in a good place when he passed, and I wasn’t in a better place right after,” Robin told PEOPLE in 2021. “However, a few months later, I decided to dedicate my time to raising my son, and that really was a big turn for me. Instead of focusing on my music, I focused on my son. That’s how I got through that period.”

Robin also credited fatherhood as what “brought [him] back,” telling PEOPLE, “I think probably when I lost my father, it’s no coincidence that I’ve had three children in the last few years … because that’s how big that hole is.”

The Grammy-nominated performer added that his children have “fed my soul.” On Father’s Day in 2023, Robin echoed the same sentiment in a since-deleted Instagram tribute to his sons and daughters.

“Being a father has made my life complete. I’m the luckiest man in the world because I get to spend every day with my kids,” he wrote in the caption.

Here is everything to know about Robin Thicke’s kids: Julian, Mia, Lola and Luca.

Julian Fuego Thicke, 14

Robin and Patton welcomed Julian Fuego Thicke on April 6, 2010. The former couple were together for 21 years and married almost nine before filing for divorce in 2014. It was finalized the following year when Julian was 4 years old.

Fast forward, in 2021, Robin told PEOPLE that despite their split, he and Patton had come together for their son.

“We’re co-parenting at our very best, and it shows in Julian’s results,” Robin said. “He’s thriving and has really blossomed this last year. He’s so devoted to school.”

The singer continued: “He’s the opposite of me: I was the class clown in the back row. He’s in the front of class and loves going to school.”

When Julian was 1½, Robin reflected on his first year of fatherhood during an interview with PEOPLE.

“Since I have become a dad, I no longer perform for me, I perform for my family. Julian has changed my music and made me think less of myself,” he explained. “He is an angel, the greatest thing that has ever happened to me.”

In August 2013, Robin called his son his “good luck charm,” and he also spoke about Julian’s budding love for music.

“He’s 3 and wants to be a rock star! He’s always talking about hooking up with the band,” the artist said. “He tells me he’s going to New York and ‘They’re going to pay me, Daddy!’ It’s cute and adorable.”

Julian’s passion for music has only continued to grow over the years as he’s expanded his abilities. In April 2022, Robin shared a video on Instagram of his son singing onstage with his choir. In the caption, the proud father shared his pride, writing, “My son Julian Fuego Thicke!”

In February 2024, Robin opened up to PEOPLE about his son’s talent, including his starring role in his school’s musical. “My son Julian has been following in Dad’s footsteps. He’s an amazing singer and an amazing performer,” he shared.

Still, the singer wouldn’t mind his eldest child pursuing a different career path. “I would love for him to follow in my footsteps but I’d rather he follow Barack Obama’s footsteps and become president or something like that,” he added. “But he’s wonderful just the way he is.”

Robin has had Julian by his side at several events throughout the years, keeping their father-son bond strong. When he was only 8 years old, in 2019, the doting dad brought Julian along to the Grammy Awards.

Several years later, the duo walked the red carpet at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards in coordinating, monochromatic red suits.

Most recently, in April 2023, Robin celebrated Julian’s 13th birthday with a tribute on Instagram. After describing his son as an “Amazing singer, best big brother, best vacation partner, adventure partner, artist, musician and friend,” Robin wrote, “I love you my son! You are my inspiration.”

Mia Love Thicke, 6

Robin and Geary welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Mia Love, on Feb. 22, 2018.

Her name was revealed at the baby shower, and Robin shared the sweet meaning behind his first daughter’s moniker with PEOPLE. He explained, “Julian came up with the name … and I suggested the middle name Love after her mommy.”

Mia was immediately embraced by her big brother, Julian, after she was born. On her 3rd birthday in 2021, Robin shared a touching video on Instagram, which showed the sibling’s bond.

In the short throwback clip, Julian held his newborn sister and quietly sang, “Even if we’re far apart, you will always be in my heart. In my arms, we will never be far apart.”

The toddler quickly adjusted to life as a big sister, too. After Robin and Geary welcomed their third child together in December 2020, the couple shared on social media how well she was taking to becoming a big sister for the second time.

Geary reveled in her daughter’s fondness for her baby brother on Instagram, writing in the caption of a photo-filled post, “I was NOT expecting her to be this happy. She keeps saying ‘he’s so cute’ ‘he loves me so much’ ‘can I pet him?’ She’s the best big sis.”

Outside of being a doting big sister to her two younger siblings, Lola and Luca, Mia plays soccer and does ballet. In May 2021, Robin attended a ballet class with Mia, later posting a funny clip of the father-daughter duo doing their spins before running across the dance floor.

Mia’s first soccer game took place in February 2022, and Robin marked the moment with a video shared on Instagram, writing in the caption, “That’s my baby!!!”

For her 4th birthday in February 2022, Robin dedicated a sweet tribute to his elder daughter, which read, “You light up my life. Daddy loves you to the moon and the stars and over the diamonds.”

Lola Alain Thicke, 5

Robin and Geary got engaged on Christmas Eve in December 2018 and welcomed their second child, Lola Alain, shortly after, on Feb. 26, 2019.

Much like her older sister, Lola is also interested in ballet. Geary uploaded a video of the toddler on Instagram in September 2022 as she participated in her dance class, captioning it, “My little ballerina.”

Lola also has a keen interest in animals, including the wide array of dogs, bunnies and cats around the Thicke household. In a November 2021 video posted on Geary’s Instagram, Lola was very sweet with her two cats, giving each of them a kiss at bedtime.

Geary shared more of her daughter’s love for animals in September 2021, posting several photos of Lola interacting with a bird. In the caption, the mom-of-three added, “Lola is so obsessed with animals! All she does is watch ‘sea animal’ YouTube videos and tell animal stories all day.”

Apart from dancing and admiring animals, Lola has also shown interest in music and her father’s piano playing. In an Instagram photo captured by Geary, her fiancé sat behind a full-sized piano, and Lola mimicked him behind a miniature piano, appearing to press some of the keys.

When Lola turned 4 in February 2023, her dad celebrated the occasion with a series of photos on Instagram.

“Happy birthday to the smartest funniest silliest, four-year-old in the whole world! I love you so much Lola bear!” Robin wrote in the caption. “You make me laugh and smile every day. I am so lucky to be your daddy!”

Luca Patrick Thicke, 4

Less than two years after having their second child, Geary and Robin welcomed their third child, Luca Patrick, on Dec. 11, 2020.

Though Luca’s birth was ultimately a happy moment, two days after he was born marked the fourth anniversary of Robin’s father’s death. The singer reflected on the tough moment in a touching tribute he shared in a since-deleted Instagram post.

“Four years ago today, on December 13, 2016, my beloved Father passed away. As I wake up next to this little guy his first night home, I miss my father so much, but I feel his love in my heart every time I kiss my babies on the head the same way he would kiss me,” Robin wrote.

“I’m crying a little right now. Partly because I’m sad you’re not here, but mostly because I’m happy that I had you to love me, guide me, and show me the way. I hope I make you proud. I miss you every day. Thank you Dad,” he added.

Even though he’s still young, Luca’s dad has him preparing to be two things: a piano player and a fan of the Los Angeles Rams.

In June 2021, Robin posted a silly photo of Luca in honor of Father’s Day. In the Instagram image, the baby was draped in a multicolored patterned silk scarf and sat behind a miniature piano.

The following year, in March 2022, Luca got an upgrade as he sat behind a full-sized keyboard, pressing his fingers against some of the keys. In the caption of his post on Instagram, Robin wrote, “The Evolution of Luca Thicke coming soon.”

Most recently, on Luca’s 3rd birthday in December 2023, the dad-of-four shared a video of his son on Instagram and penned a sweet message to honor the special day. “Best boy in the world! I’m the luckiest daddy!” he wrote.
