Robin Roberts and her wife of two years, Amber Laign, looked so loved-up as they joined Good Morning America weatherman Sam Champion and his husband on a trip to Brazil.
The anchor took to Instagram to share a snap from their travels, which saw the foursome smiling in a selfie taken on the beach. As Sam’s husband, Rubem Robierb, took the photo, Sam kissed him on the cheek, and Robin placed her hands on his head.
She wore a blue shirt and a cowboy hat with black sunglasses, while Amber stood behind her in a red and white striped swimsuit and a white trucker cap.
“Thank you @rubemrobierb for showing us the many wonders of your stunning homeland #Brazil,” Robin wrote in the caption, as Rubem took to the comment section to share his appreciation for the TV personality and her wife. “So happy to share Brazil with you both…so much more to see.”
Fans of the happy couples shared the love in the comment section, with one writing: “Ohhh my God!!! What a group of beautiful people in a beautiful city!! I adore you guys!” while another added: “So happy for y’all!”
A third shared: “A good time is being had by all!!!” while another said: “Looks so beautiful.” Amber also shared a photo of her and Robin posing in front of the world-famous Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro. “The most beautiful wake up and GO morning,” she wrote in the caption.
Both Robin and Sam were absent from Monday’s Good Morning America broadcast and are enjoying time off with their spouses. Sam has been married to Rubem since 2012, when they tied the knot in an NYC ceremony attended by Robin and their co-stars Lara Spencer and Josh Elliott. The couple had met three years earlier at a New Year’s Eve party in Florida.

The 64-year-old praised his husband in a touching tribute to the artist on their 12th wedding anniversary in December 2024. “12 years later, and we’ve gone from ‘where’s the party’ to ‘what are we bingeing tonight?'” Sam began in the caption. “From wild nights out to cozy nights in, our vibe has evolved, but the love stayed unmatched.”
“Here’s to a dozen years of chaos, laughter, and figuring it all out together – whether it’s life or what’s for dinner. Cheers to us, then and now. #12YearsStrong #growupglowup #FromShotsToSnacks.” Meanwhile, Robin met Amber back in 2005 on a blind date, and didn’t say “I do” to the massage therapist until 2023.
“We had talked about marriage off and on during the course of our relationship, and it didn’t come through for whatever reasons,” Robin shared on GMA. “But after the lockdown, we were like, yeah, we kind of like being around each other almost 24/7.”
Robin later revealed that while they appear to be the picture-perfect couple, she and Amber had worked hard on their relationship over the years. “We keep it fresh,” she told People. “You’ve got to keep it fresh, have our little date nights.”
“But also, I will say – and we’re going to be honest – we’ve had peaks and valleys. Many more peaks than valleys. Because everything goes back to when you were younger. And so, we had to respect that we had different upbringings. It was really very helpful. Once we made that breakthrough. It really did help.”
