Demi Moore, Rita Wilson, Melanie Griffith and Rosie O’Donnell are showing they are just as close now as they were then.

The four actresses, who starred in the 1995 coming-of-age dramedy Now and Then, reunited during ELLE‘s 2024 Women in Hollywood celebration inside the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills on Tuesday, Nov. 19.

Wilson, O’Donnell and Griffith donned sleek black outfits for the occasion, while Moore glowed in gold. The Substance star, 62, wore a shimmering sequin gold gown that formed a turtleneck at the top and hugged her curves as she posed with an arm around Wilson, 68.

As for Wilson, the Sleepless in Seattle star wore a sparkling off-the-shoulder black dress and her hair in light waves. O’Donnell, 62, posed on the other side of Moore in a black power suit and matching shirt. Rounding out the group was Griffith, 67, who rocked a long-sleeved black turtleneck gown.

The trio introduced Moore at the ceremony, with O’Donnell noting they were “all honored that she asked us to be a part of” Now and Then, as she was a producer on it, according to ELLE.

O’Donnell added that the movie was “produced by women, written by a woman, directed by a woman, and starring primarily women” — a “rare” thing at the time, and a “true gift.”

They further noted that Moore broke through barriers, notably with her Vanity Fair cover, in which she posed nude while pregnant — prompting Wilson to joke that “celebrities walk the red carpet in less coverage than she was wearing.”

They also said Moore flourished in her career as an actress and producer of films like G.I. Jane and the first two Austin Powers movies, and noted her continued success at the box office decades later with her new films including The Substance.

“Demi was a box-office star in her own right, playing strong, complicated women in a string of successful hits: Ghost, A Few Good Men, Indecent Proposal, Disclosure,” Wilson said, per ELLE.

“And now she’s experiencing a renaissance,” Griffith added, after which O’Donnell chimed in to amend, “A Demi-ssance, if you will.”

The quartet starred in the cult classic Now and Then alongside Christina Ricci, Thora Birch, Gaby Hoffmann and the late Ashleigh Aston Moore.

The film follows four women who recall a formative shared summer in 1970, when they were 12 years old. Ricci, 44, Birch, 42, Hoffman, 42, and Aston Moore, who died in 2007 at age 26, played younger versions of the actresses’ characters Roberta, Teeny, Samantha and Chrissy, respectively.

The women’s recent outing comes after Moore, Griffith and Wilson reunited at the Unforgettable Evening event in Beverly Hills, California, in April. For that event, Wilson wore a more colorful ensemble: a peach off-the-shoulder dress with ruffled sleeves and hem.

Moore and Griffith contrasted in black and white outfits, with Moore in a black halter floor-length gown and the Working Girl star in an all-white tailored pantsuit. The latter opted for pearl jewelry, wearing studs and a matching necklace.
