Rihanna is determined to not let the weight of her celebrity status take over her life.
The “Diamonds” singer, 37, recognized the “isolating” nature of fame in her Harper’s Bazaar March 2025 cover story, which was published on Saturday.
Rihanna explained that she and her family would rather live their lives among the crowds than “allow people to dictate the robbery of the life that [she] could actually be living.”
“We like to eat with people. We like to shop with people. We like to walk the streets with people. I don’t like a private room. I don’t have them shut down stores. I don’t like the Rapunzel life,” she told the outlet.
“It’s very isolating. It’s very lonely. And what am I protecting myself from?” Rihanna added.
The “Love on the Brain” singer, who has been in a relationship with rapper A$AP Rocky since 2019, continued telling the outlet that going out with her boyfriend — with whom she shares sons RZA, 2, and Riot Rose, 9 months — to neighborhood haunts and having fun in bars is important to them.
“That’s a big thing for us and actually a really big thing for him,” she shared.
“He always reminds me, no matter how hard everything is that we’re dealing with in our life, in our careers and as parents, he’s like, ‘Remember when we were friends? Remember when we just used to have fun as friends?’ ”
The couple’s close relationship has been making headlines this month as Rihanna showed her support for the “L$D” hitmaker during his assault trial, which ended in the rapper’s favor with a not guilty verdict on Tuesday.
The “We Found Love” songstress made several appearances in support of Rocky throughout his trial — a move that was allegedly against the rapper’s wishes.
“He didn’t want her there … I was sort of supporting his decision to keep her away — the trial is not about Rihanna,” Rocky’s lawyer Joe Tacopina told reporters earlier this week.
However, the “Umbrella” singer insisted on standing by her man during the difficult time, allegedly telling the attorney, “You know, Joe, wild horses aren’t gonna keep me away.”
Tacopina explained that Rihanna told him to let Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, know she was “coming and [to] deal with it.”
