Reuben Owen became a regular fixture on our screens thanks to Our Yorkshire Farm, the Channel 5 documentary programme following the lives of his parents Amanda and Clive Owen on their 2,000-acre Ravenseat Farm in the Yorkshire Dales.
The machine-loving eldest son of the farming pair was often filmed helping his parents handle the livestock and assist with maintenance jobs on the documentary show, which aired for five seasons between 2018 and 2022. But almost four years after the series ended, Reuben, 22, has since carved out his own successful career running a groundworks and heavy plant business.

Reuben Owen’s career
Unlike his parents, Reuben has pursued a career outside of farming. His burgeoning career as a business owner is documented in the Channel 5 series, Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, which follows the young entrepreneur as he navigates the realities of running a heavy-plant machinery and groundwork company.
Premiering in 2024, the show has aired for three seasons, with the latest instalment concluding earlier this year.
Reuben’s family members, including his mum Amanda, young brothers Miles and Sid, and his girlfriend Jessica Ellwood, have made appearances on the show.
Who is Reuben Owen’s girlfriend?
Reuben is in a relationship with Jessica Ellwood, whom he met at a Young Farmers’ convention in 2024.
The inseparable pair often appear together in photos posted on Reuben’s social media page. In February, Reuben shared a carousel of snaps from their Valentine’s Day minibreak. Alongside snaps of the couple enjoying a romantic dinner and some downtime at the spa, he: “A romantic weekend away with my love @jessica.ellwood1 for Valentine’s day.”
Jess works on her parents’ Brough Castle farm, which houses 400 sheep, 80 milk cows, three horses, 200 cattle, two cats and three dogs.
Reuben, who went public with his romance in November 2024, is keen to take their relationship to the next level. He told The Mirror in December last year: “We’ve talked about using it as a wedding venue, but I couldn’t possibly say if there will be a ring under the tree for Jess this year.”
