Meghan Markle has shared wholesome home footage from her daily life in California, featuring a rare appearance from her daughter, Princess Lilibet. The royal spent quality time with her four-year-old daughter at the chicken coop on their Montecito property in a video shared to Instagram on Monday.
Harry and Meghan have had rescued hens at their California home since 2021, which they’ve previously revealed the coop is called ‘Archie’s Chick Inn’ as a sweet nod to their now six-year-old son, Prince Archie. The Duchess of Sussex filmed the chickens running around on a sunny day as she giggled behind the camera. Lilibet appeared at the very end of the clip as she bent down in her gumboots to try pat one of the chickens.
The young royal showed off her fiery red hair, which both she and her brother Archie have inherited from their dad. The short clip cut off just as Lilibet started to say something to her mum.
Meghan’s home videos
The royal showcased her floral arrangement skills in another home video posted to her Instagram Stories on 16 March. Meghan had her hair slicked back beneath a black headband and wore a classic long-sleeved knit jumper as she went about arranging a vase of pink roses on a table outside. In the background, Harry offered commentary and said the bouquet was “beautiful”.
Meghan shared a close-up photo of the pink and green-hued flowers and another clip of her picking purple flowers from a tree outside.
Meghan’s International Women’s Day message
Meghan shared a heartwarming message for her little girl on International Women’s Day on 8 March after spending a sunny family day at the beach. The royal hugged her daughter close in an adorable photo of them sitting on the rocks together while looking out at the ocean.
“For the woman she will one day be…” Meghan captioned the picture taken by Harry. “Happy International Women’s Day.”
In another ultra-rare video of Lilibet posted to her story, Meghan and her daughter went down to the water and watched the waves softly crash upon the sand. At the end of the clip, an excited Lilibet could be heard animatedly exclaiming.
“Part of the role modelling that I certainly try to do as a mother is to encourage our daughter – who, at three, she has found her voice,” Meghan said of her daughter and motherhood during her 2024 visit to Colombia.
