The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Dr. Jen Armstrong is revealing which men’s hair product women can use to fix a common beauty issue.

In a video posted on Instagram and TikTok Thursday, March 27, the cosmetic doctor shared a few words about why she believes women can use men’s Rogaine (also known as minoxidil) to help regrow their eyebrows.

“Hi, you guys, so I just wanted to talk about men’s Rogaine foam. A lot of you guys have been asking. I’ve mentioned it quite a few times on my celebrity reviews,” Dr. Jen explains in the video.

“So as we age, our brows, the tail of our brows, it shortens. So you’ll notice, like on older women, like it stops right here. So one way to combat that is men’s Rogaine foam,” she says while pointing at a picture of the product. “So you just put this on your eyebrows at night and I would put it on first before products so that it can really soak in.”

Dr. Jen noted that because it is an eyebrow treatment and not an eyelash treatment, you should not put it on your eyelashes, but the product is “safe in women.”

“You just stick it on your brows at night and it will grow in very nicely,” she adds. “You might have to wait like a month or like six weeks to see a difference, but it definitely works.”

“To grow your brows, you can apply men’s Rogaine foam! I’ve said this in a few of my celebrity reviews and a lot of people had questions. You’ll see results in a few weeks! 👩🏼‍⚕️✨,” Dr. Jen captioned her post.

According to Healthline, Rogaine has been a “go-to product for head hair regrowth for many years” as it typically works by “generating hair regrowth while also preventing further hair loss.”

While it has not been determined as an established treatment for eyebrow hair loss, two studies have examined its effect on eyebrows.

One study reviewed by Healthline compared the efficacy of 3% minoxidil on eyebrows with a 0.03% concentration of bimatoprost (Latisse), another hair loss treatment.

The study showed that after 16 weeks, about 50 percent of participants saw hair regeneration “nearly equally with both products.”

Another study reviewed by Healthline compared Rogaine with a placebo by having 40 participants apply a 2% concentration to their brows over 16 weeks.

At the end of the study period, participants who used Rogaine saw “better results overall,” deeming Rogaine a “safe and effective treatment” for eyebrows, per Healthline.
