Princess Lilibet’s ‘daily’ lesson for her mother Meghan Markle at home

Princess Lilibet might only be five years old, but it appears she’s already becoming the bravest member of the Sussex clan.

Meghan Markle shared an insight into family life at home with Prince Harry and their children Archie, seven, and Lilibet during a recent interview ahead of the release of her production company’s latest documentary, Cookie Queens.

During an InStyle Q&A which saw her answering questions from children, Meghan said that motherhood is a “superpower” and women need to afford themselves grace during difficult times.

Asked what her superpower is, the Duchess of Sussex answered “being a mom”. “I feel like we have superpowers because we juggle it all and enjoy it all with grace and grit at the same time,” she added.

Asked by another child about what makes her feel brave, Meghan replied: “Every day, when I feel a little bit like, ‘Oh gosh, can I do this?’ I go: ‘Lili would do it.'”

Meghan has made a number of personal admissions while doing press for her documentary, a coming-of-age story about Girl Scouts selling their cookies produced by the Sussexes’ company Archewell Productions.

The documentary, which premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, follows “four tenacious girls (who) strive to be a top-selling ‘Cookie Queen’, navigating an 800 million dollar business in which childhood and ambition collide. 

Meghan Markle shares further personal updates about daughter Lilibet

This isn’t the first mention of her daughter that Meghan has made this week. The Duchess of Sussex, who celebrated her 45th birthday in style this week, shared that she had an unexpected full-circle moment during drop-off at the gates on Lilibet’sfirst day of pre-Kindergarten. 

“Funny enough, on Lili’s first day of pre-K, one of the moms came up to me at drop-off, and I realized we were in our troop together!” Meghan told PEOPLE magazine. “It was so sweet and nostalgic.”

She also recently opened up about Lilibet and her big brother Archie’s eating habits during an appearance on MasterChef Australia, revealing that they operate a farm-to-table ethos at home in Montecito.

While she described them as “great eaters”, Meghan revealed that they beg for dessert just like any other kid.

Sharing her reply to their daily question, she told judges Jean-Christophe Novelli, Poh Ling Yeow and Sofia Levin: “If they say, ‘Mama, can I have dessert?’ We say, ‘If you can pick it, you can have it’.”

A momentous summer for the Sussex family

It’s been quite a monumental few weeks for Meghan and Harry, during which they reconciled with his estranged father King Charles and stepmother Queen Camilla.

The meeting on 10 July came following Prince Harry’s trip to the UK for Invictus Games events. Harry and Charles reunited at Highgrove in Gloucestershire, marking the first time the King had seen his grandchildren since 2022. 

Meghan later shared a series of photos from the family’s time in the UK on her personal Instagram account, with several pictures believed to have been taken at Althorp Estate.

From the images, it seems clear that the family of four also spent time at Princess Diana’s final resting place at Althorp during their visit.

One particularly sentimental photo saw red-haired Lilibet marching through the grounds, following her father and brother Prince Archie, who appeared to be carrying a floral tribute to lay on Diana’s grave.
