Princess Gabriella, 11, displays close twin bond as she leans on Prince Jacques during milestone outing

Princess Charlene‘s twin children, 11, made a rare appearance on Saturday as the family visited Les Baux-de-Provence in France.

While Prince Jacques was largely the one in the spotlight, since he was presented with the keys to the town, he was supported by his sister, Princess Gabriella. He looked smart in cream chinos and a blue suit jacket that matched his father Prince Albert, while Gabriella was the ultimate cool girl in her ethereal white sundress, Ray-Ban sunglasses and beige Frankie4 sandals.

The pair put their close bond on display, with Jacques offering a steadying arm to help Gabriella navigate the cobblestone streets in her £177 footwear. In another photo, the royals watched an eagle display, and Gabriella seemed to reach towards her brother for comfort.

The quiet interactions didn’t go unnoticed by fans, who commented: “They look so sweet, brother and sister. Siblings and friends,” and: “Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella are two very beautiful and well-behaved children.” 

Princess Charlene also put her parenting duties on display. Although she was on official business, Charlene proved she was a doting mum as she placed her arm around her daughter and held hands with her son.

Prince Jacques’ milestone day following in Prince Albert’s footsteps

In the caption, the palace explained the significance of the day: “Since 1642, the title of Marquis of Les Baux has traditionally been held by the heir to the Monegasque throne. It was thus passed to Hereditary Prince Jacques upon his birth in 2014, perpetuating a centuries-old tradition that closely links the Provençal village to the Princely Family.

“After a formal welcome at the Porte d’Eyguières – the village’s historic entrance, adorned with the Grimaldi coat of arms – the Princely Family visited the Church of Saint-Vincent. The church houses remarkable contemporary stained-glass windows created in 1962 by master glass artist Max Ingrand; these were a gift from Prince Rainier III following the birth of his son, Albert. To mark the occasion, the Monaco Stamp Issuing Office will release a postage stamp featuring one of these windows.

“Later, during the official ceremony on the esplanade of the old castle – attended by local officials and residents – Hereditary Prince Jacques was symbolically presented with the keys to the town. This gesture echoed the one performed in 1982 for his father, the then-Hereditary Prince Albert.

“In his address, Prince Albert II also announced the upcoming acquisition of the house known as the ‘Connétable de Montmorency’ (Constable de Montmorency) residence. It is set to undergo an ambitious restoration and enhancement project, intended notably to serve as a showcase for the Grimaldi Historic Sites network. The visit concluded with a falconry display, paying tribute to the medieval past of Les Baux.”

Princess Gabriella’s style credentials

During her rare public appearances, Princess Gabriella has gained a reputation for her elegant, graceful fashion choices.

Back in March, she stepped out for the opening ceremony of the 14th Sainte-Dévote rugby tournament at the Stade Louis-II in wide-leg dark-wash jeans with a baby pink collarless jacket.
