Prince William revealed that his 9-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, cried when she first saw his beard.
âCharlotte didnât like it the first time. I got floods of tears, the first one I got tears, so I had to shave it off,â the royal dad said during an interview on Thursday, per People.
The Prince of Wales â who was wrapping up his four-day visit to South Africa for the Earthshot Prize Awards â shared he got the emotional reaction from his daughter earlier in the year.

On Thursday, William candidly reflected on his familyâs challenges in 2024, calling it the âhardest yearâ of his life.
âTrying to get through everything else and keep everything on track has been really difficult,â he said, per People.
