Princesses Beatrice  and Eugenie received some very lavish gifts for their respective weddings in 2020 and 2018.

The York sisters, who are the children of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, are both happily married and have two children each. Princess Eugenie tied the knot with Jack Brooksbank in 2018, while Princess Beatrice, 37, married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020.

Their finances are now facing increased scrutiny due to their parents’ appearance in the latest release of so-called Epstein files. Sarah, 66, has previously revealed she accepted £15,000 from Epstein in 2011, publicly calling it a “gigantic error of judgement”.

Writing in his book Entitled, historian and author Andrew Lownie revealed Turkish millionairess Nebahat Isbilen paid £750,000 into the former Duke of York’s personal bank account in 2019, allegedly as a wedding gift for Beatrice’s wedding.

Andrew’s office allegedly told Isbilen that “it is a gift for the cost of the wedding or a gift to Princess Beatrice… I mean, I’m not sure it makes much difference, does it? I think it’s a gift for the wedding… What she and her family decide to do with it is really to do with them, isn’t it?”

Following a court case in 2022, Mountbatten-Windsor later returned the money. Isbilen claimed at the High Court that her business adviser, Selman Turk, had wrongly told the bank it was a wedding gift. Turk rejected the allegations against him.

Princess Eugenie’s 2018 wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor was said to have cost the taxpayer £2 million. Eugenie received a handmade painting of a bouquet of flowers from her grandfather, Prince Philip, and wore a pair of sparkling earrings from her new husband on her wedding day.

Speaking about the painting in a BBC One documentary in 2021, she said: “It was so nice, it’s now sitting in my house in London and I’m so proud of it, you know?”

In a tribute to her grandfather, Eugenie named her son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank. In 2020, Princess Beatrice received a stunning bouquet of flowers from florist Martyn Crossley.

She was also gifted a white silk robe embroidered with Mrs MM, standing for Mapelli Mozzi, by Hand & Lock, which boasts a royal warrant. For her special day, Beatrice wore a vintage dress from Queen Elizabeth’s own collection, designed by Norman Hartnell.

Where are Beatrice and Eugenie at the moment?

The Princesses are currently keeping a low profile amid the fallout surrounding their father, Andrew, and his arrest on 19 February.

Beatrice finally broke her cover at the end of last month and was seen out in London with her husband Edo and a small group of friends. She was pictured wearing a long blue overcoat and matching scarf, and she carried a small cup of coffee in a blue cup in exclusive photos published by HELLO!

Edo, meanwhile, has been keeping his head down, jetting to Miami and Palm Beach. Eugenie was spotted on a ski holiday last month in Switzerland with her husband. It was revealed at the weekend that she had stepped down from her role at UK charity Anti-Slavery International.
