Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have been at the centre of several reports over recent weeks, with some focusing on the state of the marriage.

Recent reports in the Mail indicate that the reason Edoardo has been spending time away from his wife of five years is because the couple are planning to move to the United States in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

Although neither Beatrice nor Edoardo are involved with the late paedophile, Beatrice’s parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson held a friendship with the disgraced financier over many years.

A new report in the Mail has claimed that the royal couple could be looking to move to America, with the pair even in touch with their cousin, Prince Harry, who has been living in California with Meghan Markle and their family since 2020.

However, a source previously told HELLO! that Edoardo’s trips to America were solely business-related, with the 42-year-old being the chief executive of development firm, Banda Property.

They noted: “They’ve both had recent stints working abroad and like so many working parents, have been balancing work with looking after the kids.”

The source then added: “Things are great between them and the only distance between them recently has been physical distance because of work.”

Royals abroad

Although Beatrice and Edoardo aren’t planning to move abroad, they would join plenty of other members of the family in living away from the United Kingdom.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been living in Montecito, California since 2020 following their stepping back as working members of the royal family. The couple welcomed their second child, Princess Lilibet, while living abroad, and they count several Hollywood A-listers as their neighbours.

Beatrice’s own sister, Princess Eugenie, also splits her time between Ivy Cottage in Kensington Palace and an exclusive neighbourhood in Portugal.

According to the complex’s website: “Pinheirinho is the place where landscape and lifestyle blend in peace, from the golden coastline to the towering pines”, allowing access to open water and greenery that the nature-loving Princess Eugenie certainly appreciates.

The coastal community also invites its residents to “relax into the rhythm of nature, reconnect with those you love, seek adventure and lose yourself in that dreamy space between sun and shadow”.

Recent reports have also indicated that Beatrice’s mother could be looking for a move abroad after she was evicted from Royal Lodge over her friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. However, the Mail indicated that Sarah would unlikely stay in the United States on a long-term basis due to pressure on her to testify about Jeffrey in front of the US Congress.
