Princess Anne steps out in Yorkshire following quiet family heartache

So, what’s on today’s agenda? 

It’s a busy day for Princess Anne. As Royal Patron of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, she will meet English rugby union coach Sir Kevin Sinfield on his 7 in 7 Challenge at the University of York Athletics track. 

The Princess Royal, as Honorary President of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, will also attend the WISE Annual Conference and Awards in London, and, as President of the Carers Trust, will visit Carers Plus Yorkshire to mark its 30th Anniversary.

Meanwhile, The Duke of Edinburgh will embark on his visit to the United States of America and Canada. The visit, which ends on Thursday 1 October, will celebrate the relationship between the US and the UK, with a particular focus on shared interests around youth empowerment and opportunity, and the arts.
