Prince William and Kate Middleton are on the hunt for a person with âtact and discretionâ to join their team based at Kensington Palace. The Prince and Princess of Wales want to hire a Digital Content Creator to deliver âstorytellingâ across their social media channels and website.
In the advert shared on the royal vacancies website, the permanent, full-time role involves âideating and delivering creative, integrated digital storytelling which showcases the work of TRHs The Prince and Princess of Wales to digital audiencesâ. This will almost certainly include working across their Instagram account of more than 17.2 million followers.
The position, which is listed as being 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday, will see the right candidate âcapturing videographyâ on royal engagements and âaround other peak moments and eventsâ. There may be the âoccasionalâ out of hours work, according to the listing.
Perhaps hinting at the direction Prince William, 43, and Princess Kate, 44, are headed in, the role will have a âparticular focus on how to appeal to younger audiences through the use of organic contentâ. There may be a requirement to work with the other Royal Households too, like that of King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Essential skills include experience in content creation and social media channel management, as well as the ability to capture high quality videography and photography. Notably, the advert lists qualities such as being âcalm and diplomaticâ and the âability to exercise tact and discretion and maintain confidentiality at all timesâ as being of high importance.
The expansion of the coupleâs team comes at a challenging time for the royal family. Last week, the Princeâs uncle Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office in connection with the Epstein files, and there remains an ongoing police investigation.
Earlier this month, the Prince and Princess of Wales made an exciting new hire in their communications department â who the prospective Digital Content Creator will likely be working closely with. Rosie Trainor, who previously worked as a Senior Account Manager at Freuds, is joining their Royal Household as a Senior Communications Officer, taking up the position this month.
The new appointment comes as part of a wider shake-up and follows a string of new hires. Sarah Henwood joined this month as the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Walesâ new CEO, taking over from Amanda Berry, who stepped into the coveted role in June 2022, having previously served as chief executive of BAFTA for over 20 years.
