Prince Harry will take part in his first public engagements since returning to the U.K. later this month.
Harry, 41, will attend the annual WellChild Awards in London on September 21. The Duke of Sussex has been the charity’s patron since 2007.
“It is always a privilege to be part of the WellChild Awards and to meet the extraordinary children, young people, families and professionals whose courage and determination inspire us all,” Harry said in a statement. “This year feels particularly special as we celebrate 20 years of the WellChild Nurse program, two decades of supporting thousands of children and families and helping them to live more of their lives at home. These awards are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate that impact, but above all to celebrate the incredible people at the heart of it. Their stories are a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through compassion, connection and community.”

Harry will also attend the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards and the launch of the Invictus education program, INSPIRE, in the U.K. later this month, reported ITV News and the Telegraph on Thursday, September 10.
According to the Telegraph, Harry will then fly to New York for the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting, which takes place from September 22 to 23.

Harry’s appearances mark his first public engagements since he and wife Meghan Markle returned to the U.K. last month along with their children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, who have already enrolled in school in the country.
Earlier this week, a senior officer of the royal household, Lord Chamberlain, issued a letter on behalf of King Charles III clarifying Harry and Meghan’s royal roles upon their return. The pair stepped down as senior working members of the royal family in 2020.
The letter described Harry and Meghan, 45, as “akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests,” noting that their charitable work “is a personal matter for them both.”
“It is well known that in January 2020 the Duke and Duchess stepped down from undertaking representative duties on behalf of The Sovereign, and are no longer working Members of The Royal Family,” the letter continued. “This position, distinct from the State and Royal duties undertaken by the working Royal Family, and with the personal latitude it brings the couple in respect of financial independence and protection of their privacy as they would wish, will continue to be fully respected.”
A spokesperson for the Sussexes told the BBC that the pair were “a little surprised not to have been told” about the letter “in advance.” Harry and Meghan’s team were only made aware of the letter an hour before it was sent to government departments and others who work with the royal family, the BBC reported.
