A perfect Hallmark moment.
Prince Harry nearly planted a kiss on Stephen Colbert during the royalsâ surprise appearance on the âLate Showâ Wednesday night.
Colbert kicked off his talk show with a skit about the many TV Christmas movies in which an American falls in love with a princess or a prince.
âAs much as I love these holiday movies, and I do, I think theyâre a little problematic because they give people the unrealistic expectation that during the holiday season, theyâre just going to bump into some prince at their job or walking down the street,â the comedian, 61, said.
As Colbert finished his statement, Harry came onto the stage, saying that he thought he was walking into an audition for âThe Gingerbread Prince Saves Christmas in Nebraska.â
The Invictus Games founder, 41, then asked Colbert what a real prince had to do to âget into a Hallmark movie.â
The TV host asked Harry if he had âany connections to any famous TV actresses.â
âI might know one,â Harry said, referring to his wife, former âSuitsâ actress Meghan Markle.
âBut Iâll do anything. Iâll record a self-tape, Iâll fly myself to an audition. Iâll settle a baseless lawsuit with the White House ⊠all the things you people in TV do!â the duke jokingly said.
When Colbert joked that he âdidnât do any of those things,â Harry hit back, âMaybe thatâs why youâre canceled.â
Towards the end of the skit, the set began to turn into a TV Christmas movie, complete with evergreen trees and fake snow falling to the ground.
The âSpareâ author and Colbert, joking, grabbed each otherâs faces and got close, as if they were about to kiss, like two people who fall in love in a TV Christmas movie.
Colbert then told Harry he âgot the roleâ of âofficial âLate Showâ prince of Christmas.â
Elsewhere during the skit, Harry incited boos from the audience when he slammed President Donald Trump, joking that Americans âelected a king.â
