Daisy Knatchbull has announced she is engaged, and took to social media to reveal her very unique ring.
The designer, who is a distant cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry, is set to marry her long-term partner, Italian music executive Giovanni Damiani.
Taking to Instagram, the 33-year-old shared a glimpse of Giovanni’s stunning and thoughtful proposal, writing “Will you marry me?” in the sand using seaweed during a recent beach visit in the Bahamas.
Beaming from ear to ear, Daisy showed off a very sweet engagement ring in the shape of a turtle, writing: “Getting hitched 💍 (and making gift shop turtle rings a thing).”
Daisy wore a floral bikini, while Giovanni looked casual in sunglasses and a shirt. Little is known about the couple’s relationship, but they previously told HELLO! they live together in London.
Giovanni works in music but is a keen cook, with Daisy telling us previously: “We eat a lot of Italian food,” adding: “We’re always having Sunday lunches, barbecues and dinner parties.”
The announcement was soon met by a flurry of celebrity and royal congratulations. Princess Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, wrote: “Yipeeeeee. Congratulations ❤️❤️❤️”, while Lady Tatiana Mountbatten, a cousin of King Charles, commented: “Yyyyyaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy” and Princess Olympia of Greece said: “YESSSSS!!! OMGGGGG CONGRATULATIONS.”
Celebrity chef Nigella Lawson sweetly commented: “He’s the luckiest man in the world! And you haven’t done too badly, either! I feel the spheres are aligned.”
A royal relative with a very impressive fashion brand
Daisy is the great-granddaughter of the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, uncle to Prince Philip, making her a third cousin to Princes William and Harry.
She is the daughter of Philip Knatchbull, chief executive of film distributor and cinema operator, Curzon, and his first wife, Atlanta Cowen. She has a step-sister, Phoebe, and two half-brothers, Rocky and Freddy, who is known for his appearance on Made in Chelsea.
Daisy is the first female-only tailor on Savile Row, and her fashion line, Knatchbull, was formerly known as The Deck. She is also the editor-in-chief of Kultura magazine.
Her stylish outfits have been worn by her cousin India Hicks, Kate Moss, Elizabeth Hurley, Maya Jama, Gillian Anderson, Sarah, ex-Duchess of York, and Bridgerton actress Adjoa Andoh. Last November, The Princess of Wales wore a ‘Cascade’ style £600 blouse from Knatchbull at the Future Workforce Summit.
What might the wedding look like?
Daisy may choose to follow in the footsteps of her step-sister, Phoebe, who married British banker Leopold GLover in 2025 at the Kensington and Chelsea registry office in 2025.
Phoebe chose an intimate wedding with just immediate friends and family on the guest list. The Prince and Princess of Wales did not attend, so it’s not known whether they would attend Daisy’s nuptials.
Daisy previously discussed her “androgynous and timeless” style with HELLO!, giving a glimpse into what her wedding look might look like. She said: “I am a big believer in simple but elevated basics to build a small but mighty wardrobe.” She also said she tries to “avoid anything that is too trend-driven”.
