Presley Gerber didn’t appear sober at rehab day before death: report

Presley Gerber was allegedly under the influence of a substance when he checked himself into rehab one day before he died there.

The 27-year-old “did not appear sober” when he arrived at the Santa Monica rehab treatment facility on Saturday night, sources who allegdly had contact with Presley in his final hours told TMZ on Monday.

Presley — who is the only son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber — was staying at Resolutions Living’s $7.7 million luxurious rehabilitation home when he died of a suspected overdose on Sunday.

“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” his family, which includes sister Kaia Gerber, 25, said in a joint statement.

Presley’s cause and manner of death are still pending, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

He went into cardiac arrest before his death, according to 911 dispatch audio call obtained by Page Six.

A source on the scene told Page Six that cops, ambulance and firefighters all responded to the incident. We heard authorities were on the scene for three hours.

Page Six confirmed Presley, who battled addiction and depression, had checked himself into the facility on Saturday for treatment.

“He had not been doing well,” an insider told us. “He’s always suffered from a huge lack of self-esteem and had trouble accepting his real self and feeling fully confident in who he was as a person.”

The source further stated that despite “struggling with a lot of things,” Presley “wanted so, so badly to be free of his addictions.”

One year before his death, Presley shared a candid update on his mental health struggles.

“I had to step back and take care of my own mental health for a bit,” he wrote on Instagram in Nov. 2025 after a short hiatus.

“But I’m coming back soon — stronger, clearer, more intentional than ever,” he added.

Presley also explained he was launching a “Mental Health Mondays” movement on his social media platform “to spark real conversations about the stuff most people hid.”

The following month, Presley announced he was five months sober from alcohol. He also detailed the medication he was taking, including Buprenorphine, ketamine and Xanax for “really, really bad panic attacks.”

Presley was previously arrested for a DUI in California in December 2018 at age 19. He was sentenced to two years of probation and ordered to complete a DUI program and two days of community service.
