Jennifer Lawrence is positively glowing during her pregnancy with baby No. 2.
Lawrence, 34, showed off her baby bump while attending the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciencesâ 15th Annual Governors Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 17.
Lighting up the red carpet at the Ray Dolby Ballroom, the Passengers star wore a figure-hugging chocolate-brown gown embellished with gold features at one shoulder and both sides of the waistline.
The actress wore her hair up for the occasion and matched the gownâs gold accents with a striking gold clutch before smiling for the eventâs photographers.
The Los Angeles outing came just four days after Lawrence attended the premiere of the Bread & Roses documentary at the Hammer Museum in L.A., cradling her baby bump in a black off-the-shoulder Christian Lacroix gown with a tulle appliquĂŠ on the bodice.
Us Weekly confirmed on October 20 that Lawrence is expecting her second child with husband Cooke Maroney, an art gallery director. The couple, who got married in 2019, share two-year-old son, Cy.
Lawrenceâs first red carpet attendance with bub no. 2 in tow was quick to follow the news, as the actress posed for photos at the 2024 AFI Fest premiere of the reproductive rights documentary, Zurawski v Texas, in Los Angeles on October 23.
At that outing, Lawrence opted for a sleek off-the-shoulder white buttoned dress and accentuated her bump by tying a belt above her stomach.
Lawrence sparked pregnancy speculation after flashing her bump while at dinner on October 19. Vogue was first to report the news at the time.
The reveal came after Us previously confirmed that Lawrence and Maroney, 40, were contemplating life with a second child. âTheyâre thinking about having another child,â a source told Us in June 2023. âAt first they werenât sure if they wanted another one because itâs so much work, but theyâre obsessed with Cy and love showing off videos to their friends and family. Theyâve started warming up to the possibility of a second.â
Lawrence spoke candidly about how nervous she felt during her pregnancy with her first child, telling Cameron Diaz during an interview for Interview magazine in June 2023 that she felt instinctively protective over her unborn baby.
âI was so nervous when I was pregnant. I was getting paparazziâd, and I was just like, âHow the fâ am I not going to lose it on these guys when theyâre taking a picture of my baby?ââ she told Diaz, 52. âThen once he was here, I realized that my energy is more important to him than anything else. So if he feels that Iâm anxious before I leave the house, or Iâm angry when weâre outside, thatâs going to impact him.â
One year prior to the interview, Lawrence had spoken about the pressures of being a mom in an equally raw interview with Variety. âEvery day of being a mom, I feel awful,â Lawrence said during the June 2022 âActors on Actorsâ interview. âI feel guilty. Iâm playing with him and Iâm like, âIs this what he wants to be doing? Should we be outside?â Weâre outside [and Iâm like], âWhat if heâs cold? What if heâs going to get sick? Should we be inside? Is this enough? Is this developing your brain enough?ââ
