Brittany Mahomes is set to give birth during Patrick Mahomes’ bye week.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback told NFL reporter Tracy Wolfson that he had “extra motivation” for his team to get time off before the divisional round on Jan. 18 and 19.
“No one happier to get back to KC than Patrick Mahomes,” Wolfson wrote via X Monday. “He told me his wife Brittany is due to give birth to their 3rd child on Sunday.”
However, the CBS sportscaster noted that if the pregnant star, 29, “doesn’t give birth by then she will be induced Monday.”
Patrick, also 29, previously hinted at his wife’s due date before his team beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day.
“Hopefully God works the right way and we can have that baby maybe on the bye week somewhere, and then everything will work out perfectly,” he said last month on Netflix.
Patrick and Brittany are already the parents of daughter Sterling, 3, and son Bronze, 2.
The high school sweethearts announced in a joint Instagram post in July 2024 that baby No. 3 was on the way.
Later that month, they shared at a gender reveal party that they are expecting another daughter.
Since the couple’s dogs also have metal-themed monikers — Silver and Steel — many social media users have predicted they will name Sterling and Bronze’s sibling Goldie.
Patrick insisted last summer that their family will be complete after their third child’s arrival.
“I’m done,” the athlete said at the time. “I’ll say that. I said three, and I’m done.”
He added, “I always wanted to have kids young. … We still go out and enjoy our life and let our kids see these great things.”
Patrick also gushed over how “awesome” fatherhood is during the press conference.
He and Brittany have been married since March 2022.
