Peter Andre’s wife Emily, 36, has been diagnosed with shingles

Peter Andre’s wife, Dr Emily Andre, revealed her shingles symptoms following her “unexpected” diagnosis and shared her health update with her followers on her social media channel. 

The 36-year-old posted a video to her Instagram account with a lengthy caption outlining her illness and highlighting what everyone should be aware of when it comes to the viral infection. 

Sitting down on the floor of her grey-carpeted living room, the doctor and mother-of-three wore a light pink knitted jumper as she recorded herself speaking to her camera. 

She had on a very light touch of makeup, which included a darkish neutral lip and some mascara, and let her long, highlighted chestnut hair hang loose around her shoulders. 

In the clip, she told fans she had been dealing with a “minor health issue”, which she revealed was shingles and proceeded to explain that she wanted to educate people on the causes and symptoms from her position as a doctor.

Emily wrote in her caption: “A little health update, this week I was unexpectedly diagnosed with shingles. So I thought I’d do a quick video to explain what it is, in the hope it helps raise awareness for anyone who might not be familiar.” 

She added: “As always, do refer to the NHS website for more information, and seek medical advice if you’re unsure about anything. 

“Let’s just say… not exactly how I planned to spend the week, but a good reminder to listen to your body and get things checked if something doesn’t feel right.” 

Fans and followers flocked to the comment section to send their well-wishes to the star, with one writing: “Best wishes for a speedy recovery and great info,” while another said: “Wishing you a very speedy recovery, Emily and thank you for the info on shingles”. 

“Thank you for sharing and get well soon,” a third social media user posted underneath Emily’s video. 

Andre and Emily’s home life

The doctor married Mysterious Girl singer and ex-husband of Katie Price, Peter, 53, in 2015 and the couple have since welcomed three children together: Millie, 12, Theo, nine, and Arabella, one.

Emily is also a stepmum to the children Peter shares with Katie, Junior, 20, and Princess, 18. 

Earlier this month, Emily shared an insight into her parenting style and revealed how she was managing to teach her children about the value of money as they grew up in the public eye.

In another Instagram video, she revealed: “The kids have their own bank accounts and they have a little card that they’re able to spend, and they get £1 a week from me and Pete that goes into their bank account. 

“And then any extra money they want to have they get through chores. So, you know, they might help me unload the dishwasher. I think I’m a bit stingy, by the way – I’m gonna just caveat with that – because for unloading the dishwasher I would do like 50p.”
