Penn Badgley is giving a subtle nod to one of his most iconic characters.

The actor, 38, ditched his signature curls for a buzz cut in a new campaign for Moncler’s spring 2025 collection, drawing comparisons to his character Dam Humphrey in season one of Gossip Girl.

Fittingly, the campaign is themed around New York City, which is not only Badgley’s home but the setting of the teen drama series, which aired on The CW from 2007 to 2012. In the paparazzi-style images, some of which are black and white, the You star shows off his buzzed look as he strolls the city’s cobblestone streets.

“The latest chapter of the Moncler Collection story takes place in New York, embodied by world-renowned actor and NYC resident, Penn Badgley,” reads a press release. “Penn steps into the lead role, tuned into the pulse of the iconic city he calls home. The wardrobe fits the brief: city driven elegance interpreted by Moncler codes.”

“Every city variable is considered in modular full looks, made for life in the spotlight, or behind the scenes,” the statement continues. “A careful palette of tonal beige, navy, gray, and black can be effortlessly applied to the myriad needs and changeable conditions of a metropolitan dress code.”

Badgley dons a variety of timeless styles from Moncler’s latest collection, including a quilted puffer jacket and an overcoat.

“I remember when a Moncler jacket was, for me, aspirational — so working with them in the city I’ve called home for almost twenty years has been a lovely experience,” the actor says via press release. “This collection evokes the simplicity and practicality of an urban uniform, but with a beauty, and elegance, that is unique to Moncler. It’s clean, super comfortable and elevated, like you’d expect.”

The campaign comes ahead of the fifth and final season of Badgley’s hit Netflix show You, in which he plays serial killer Joe Goldberg. The season 5 teaser, released on Thursday, Jan. 16, shows the character returning to New York City.

According to the official logline, Joe’s attempt to live a “happily ever after” is interrupted when “his perfect life is threatened by the ghosts of his past and his own dark desires.”

The trailer begins with Joe’s reciting his classic line in a deep whisper: “Hello, you. Do you remember me? Because I remember you.”

You season 5 premieres April 24 on Netflix.
