Pamela Anderson was pictured filming on location alongside Billy Bob Thornton, on the set of her new indie drama movie, Somedays, in New Jersey. Bracing the snow and cold weather, the 58-year-old beauty was wrapped up warm in a baby-blue puffer jacket, a blue sweater, high-waisted mom jeans, and a pair of terracotta boots as she was pictured in between takes.
Mother-of-two Pamela sported a made-up look, which was quite the change for the actress, who has championed bare-faced beauty since 2023. We are used to seeing the actress and former wife of rocker Tommy Lee arrive on the red carpet sporting nothing but a layer of rosehip oil (often from her own minimalist skincare line, Sonsie) and a slick of lipbalm, creating a natural, pared-back beauty movement that has inspired many.
Makeup is always provided for actors and actresses on film sets as it helps counteract harsh studio lighting, so although Pamela has gone against her recent beauty pledge in the most recent pictures, the use of makeup could be out of her control while filming.
Pamela’s bare-faced journey
Pamela shocked the world in 2023 when she arrived at Paris Fashion Week sporting very little makeup.
At the Isabel Marant and Vivienne Westwood shows, all that could be seen on her face was a flick of mascara and a simple slick of natural gloss, a remarkable contrast from her famously vampy smoky eye makeup, deep-set tan, and iridescent pink frosted lipstick she was known for.
Speaking about her transformation, she announced on the Today Show that year: “I am much more comfortable in my own skin, but I also am in an industry that really focuses on beauty. And I thought, ‘I’m going to challenge beauty’. I think challenging ourselves is what keeps us young and beautiful. And I think, really genuinely, beauty does come from within and you don’t have to play the game.”
Remarking on her choice to change her image, she exclusively told HELLO! in 2024: “A lot of my career was about physicality, and it’s been a journey. But it’s also been part of the reason why I’ve kind of done this experiment with myself; just to peel it all back, remember who I am, and not be defined by what people do to me, but defined by what I do, and just to have passion for the work and not become bitter or jaded, still finding joy in the process, in life and in this business,” she mused.
